For Sale at Auction: 1956 Chrysler 300 in Park Hills, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Bid to win this car on Bid.WheelerAuctionGroup.com

This 1956 Chrysler 300B was presented both "1st Place" and "Best of Show" at the Chrysler Club annual meeting in 2012. White Post Restorations, a company featured in Autoweek 11/20/2006, completed this restoration. The Autoweek article emphasizes that the best restorations are open-ended, long term, and shockingly expensive. The owner of this car strode knowingly into just such an effort, and the results speak for themselves.

Arguably one of the finest in existence, this 300B presents an unbeatable combination of power and luxury. In 1956, the Chrysler 300B was the fastest American production car on the road, setting records at Daytona, and dominating NASCAR. In 2018, this no-expenses-spared 300B restoration still drives like the business man's hot rod it is.

More than a racecar, the 300B also boasted opulent luxury with power steering, power windows, power leather seats, and air conditioning. It's easy to take this for granted today, but each and every one of these power options was something special sixty years ago, and in this car they're all offered together. As part of the nut-and-bolt restoration, correct parts were used to obtain the correct function and correct appearance.

Outside, the car is ready for inspection. One of only two 300Bs produced in Geranium Red. Look for waves in the body panels, you won't find them. Search for imperfections in the paint, they're not there. The finish is so smooth and deep, it's practically creamy. The panel gaps are even and consistent around the whole car. The trim lines up perfectly. The lenses are clear and fresh, the chrome gleams flawlessly, all glass immaculate. The lettering and emblems are so good, they proclaim, "No compromises!"

The same attention to detail was lavished on the engine compartment. The finish of the air cleaner and dual quad carburetor cover gleams with the same depth as the exterior body panels. So do many other components under the hood. We're not talking gaudy, excessive chrome components either, but correct factory colors in all the right places.

That FirePower 354 ci (5.4L) Hemi V8 has brawn to match its beauty, power coursing through the optional three-speed automatic push-button transmission and robust rear end to Coker Classic whitewall tires. Let the 150 mph speedometer inspire you, knowing the car attained 133.9 mph at Daytona, and there isn't another American car from the Jet Age on the road that can keep up.

The car comes with documentation that includes a three-ring binder restoration album. Photos included show the dismantling, improvement, and reassembly of the car. Following the photos are the repair orders with labor times and descriptions, and all parts and supplies used throughout the process. A copy of the Autoweek from 2006 lauding White Post Restorations is also included.

You can benefit from this Chrysler 300B's painstaking, meticulous restoration. Get in for half the expense and be confident you have something rare and valuable to enjoy and share.
