For Sale: 1964 Chevrolet C10 in Amarillo, Texas

Vehicle Description

I bought the truck in 2009 with 1150 miles since a frame-off restoration. The previous owner paid professionals to perform the bodywork and engine/transmission builds - he basically assembled the pieces and parts. At that time, the following had been done: bodywork by Mild-To-Wild Classics in Albuquerque. Engine by Russ Hall Machine in Las Cruces (Chevy 350 stroked to 383 with 10:1 compression Vortec heads and Edelbrock 4-BBl.) Chevy TH350 transmission with shift kit built by Precision Transmission in Santa Fe. Lowering kit from Classic Performance Products with power steering and 4-wheel power disk brakes. Chevy 12-Bolt rear end with 3.73:1 Auburn Post-Track. Stainless steel gas tank beneath bed. VDO gauges. Tilt Lecarra steering wheel. Seat by B&M Upholstery of Santa Fe. Power windows. Red oak and stainless steel bed.

I worked on it off-and-on for the past 9 years, and made the following changes: Completely rewired. Soundproofed cab floor, firewall and doors. Installed carpet. Sprayed soundproofing and heat barriers inside of hood. Power door locks and Scytec sequirity system. 3-point seatbelts. Serpentine front-end by Billet Specialties with mechanical fan. Air conditioning from Classic Auto Air, with braided stainless steel Freon and water lines in engine compartment. Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth, telephone microphone and USB port. JL Audio 5-channel amp beneath seat with boost knob in dash. Custom speaker enclosures behind seat. Two Infinity tweeters in dash and two behind seat. Two Infinity midrange speakers in kick panels and two behind seat. JL Audio subwoofer beneath seat. Holley electric fuel pump, Holley regulator with return fuel line to tank, Holley filter. Braided stainless steel fuel lines to-and-from tank. Fuel pump wired to shut off with no oil pressure, with shut-off bypass switch for priming in dash. Aluminum radiator by Be Cool, with braided stainless steel lines for transmission fluid. Aluminum valve covers and spark plug harnesses by Billet Specialties. Center Line wheels: 16"x7" in front with 225/50R16 tires, and 16"x8" in rear with 235/60R16 tires.

I note the following known issues: dent on top of driver's side rear fender; paint chips, flakes and marring scattered throughout truck, especially inside cab; power windows occasionally need assistance going up; both side windows are scratched; speedometer not calibrated; there are two different colors of white paint in cab; only one remote and key (because of the power locks, the key in driver's door is no longer functional - the only way to unlock the doors is with the remote.) Those are the biggies - I'll happily describe these in detail upon request. On the positive side, the only rust is at paint chips/cracks.

The truck is titled in Texas with "Rebuilt from salvage" in the remarks section. It has 1750 miles on it. I've only driven it from Santa Fe to Amarillo (in 2009) and to annual state inspections. The rest of the mileage was put on by my daughter driving it to-and-from a summer job. I never drove it simply because I wasn't comfortable when complemented and asked if I had done all the work. I'm selling it because of pending retirement and downsizing - I seriously doubt that my next house with have an extra garage. If I were to keep it, I'd buy new doors, manual locks, and window assemblies before having it repainted. The one-piece windows complicate the weather stripping, and I've never risked locking the doors since the key isn't functional.
