Vehicle Description
STK 2531 1977 Jeep CJ5
This solid 1977 Jeep CJ-5 was partially restored in 2010. The body
'tub' was replaced with a one-piece fiberglass unit, but the front
fenders, hood and grill are all steel. The exterior was re-sprayed
in White and a two-point roll bar was attached to the rear
inner-fenders. A refreshed interior appears original - the gauges
are factory, the windshield frame is solid and reupholstered seats
are in very good shape. There is an additional rear passenger seat
and a 'bikini' soft top. The CJ-5 is powered by an AMC 232ci
straight-six that produces 200bhp with a single carburetor.
According to the owner, this motor has never required a rebuild.
These engines are virtually bulletproof - one of the best AMC
engines ever produced. Cooling is provided by an aluminum radiator
and a 3-speed manual transmission directs power to the Dana 20 4WD
transfer case. The chassis is equipped with manual hubs, manual
steering and drum brakes w/dual master cylinder. Front and rear
suspension components are stock leaf springs and nice 15" tires are
mounted on steel spoke wheels. This CJ-5 is ready for a new owner
who will enjoy this piece of Jeep lore on the road, or in the back
woods. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS"
