2008 Shelby GT 500 Super Snake
Convertible - Triple Black
The Shelby name has brought unparalleled and performance to
motorsports for over 40 years. Inspired by the 1967 GT 500 Super
Snake, a car made by Carroll Shelby for the Good Year Tire Company,
the GT 500 Super Snake was introduced by Shelby in 2007. Starting
in 2008 Shelby GT 500 Mustangs could be sent to Carroll Shelby's
Special Performance Plant in Las Vegas to be rebuilt into a "Super
Snake" for an additional cost app. $40,000. The Super Snake 5.4
liter V8 with a Ford Supercharger is knocking out over 650 HP, and
with a 6-speed manual transmission reaching the speed of 60 mph in
app 4.00 to 3.7 seconds.
The Super Snake comes with a variety of other performance, handling
and cosmetic changes including badging, gauge pod, 20" Shelby Super
Snake Wheels, fiberglass ram air Super Snake hood with hood pins,
carbon fiber front splitter and skirts, four Brembo calipers fitted
to 14" vented rotors upfront and 11.8" vented discs in the rear,
MacPherson strut independent front suspension, complete track setup
suspension, aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 differential gears and
cat-black exhaust system. Black leather bucket seats and matching
mats. The interior features a full Shelby motif with Shelby
decklid, distinctive badges and stripes, sequential taillights and
other carbon-fiber body components. Shelby embroidered seats, floor
mats, 3-pod custom gauge cluster console.
This Triple-Black Super Snake Convertible was stored for almost 8
years. Due to downsizing and lack of storage space, the first owner
put the car up for sale. This Super Snake Convertible comes with a
clean Carfax and clean title, Certificate of Authenticity signed by
Carroll Shelby himself (#185 of 1,000 scheduled for 2008). With
only 990 actual miles, this car is in immaculate, original
condition and ready for a new owner.
