Vehicle Description
Very rare, real GS 400 convertible- only 2,140 made. Recently
underwent a total restoration including removing the body from the
frame.
EXTERIOR: You can count on the body and the paint being
outstanding. It was completely restored by a local shop that only
does top notch work. The burgundy metallic is gorgeous and has a
wet smooth finish. Jambs are painted real nice. The body is
straight and fits right, doors shut like a new car. $2,500 was
spent on show chrome on the bumpers. New door handles. The rest of
the chrome is good original. The grill is detailed. The weather
strips, sill plates, window seals and windshield are replaced. The
top is upgraded with a $1,700 burgundy German cloth. The framework
is restored and has new weatherstrips.
INTERIOR: The interior has been restored too. There are new
cushions in the seats, front and back have been reupholstered. New
seatbelts front and back. The door panels are in excellent shape.
Has new carpet and embroidered Buick floor mats. In between the
bucket seats is a really cool center console with built
in tachometer. Clean original dash area with new dash pad and
recently upgraded with an aftermarket Walnut steering wheel. The
steering column was rebuilt, turn signal lever was replaced, all
dash lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has a correct GS 400 engine that was completely
rebuilt and balanced. Upgraded aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb and
aluminum air cleaner. The original "Star Wars" air cleaner is
included too. The engine compartment is detailed very nicely.
Everything is cleaned, painted and looks proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has been completely spatter painted and then
given a coat of clear for a nice durable finish. Has a new plaid
rubber mat, the spare has a tire cover. The bottom of the trunk lid
and the jamb is painted beautifully and it has new
weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: The body was pulled from the frame, new body bushings
were installed. Floors are solid. Bottom of motor is spotless, fuel
pump and starter were replaced. The turbo 400 trans was rebuilt and
upgraded with a switch pitch converter. Brakes are new, has the
famous big finned Buick drums in front. In back it has new fuel
tank straps, air shocks, tailpipes etc. Rear end was serviced, the
cover and bolts were replaced.
This is a unique car, how often do you see a 1967 GS versus a 1967
Chevelle? It has had a bunch of money spent on it and includes a
stack of receipts. It is now ready to enjoy!
