Vehicle Description
Same owner since 1974, 44 years! Very well maintained, has a folder
stuffed with 4 decades of receipts. It's a great looking driver.
The owner says drive it anywhere. He drove it to Volo on a hot day
from over an hour away. He drove it back home and returned with it
the next day with no troubles.
EXTERIOR: It has a beautiful glossy red finish. Believe it or not
this paint job is 30 years old. It still shows really well,
standing next to it I would think it's new. The body is straight
and fits nice. Once you stop and look for flaws there are a few
scratches, touch ups and blisters. In 2008 the painted wheels were
upgraed with new chrome wires. In back the chrome tail lights and
license plate light look new, the bumperettes look good original.
The windshield frame is original and the chrome shows it's age. Up
front headlight bezels, bumpers, grill, mirrors are excellent. The
convertible top is replaced, rick black canvas. The original side
windows are restored with new black canvas.
INTERIOR: The black upholstery with red piping is in very nice
shape. The side panels andpadded edge around the cockpit are also
really nice. The steering wheel is not cracked, dash area and
gauges are very nice. It has the factory plaque stating the car is
capable of 132.6 mph.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The metal is real clean and painted red. The
upper deck has the original black mat and the underside of trunk
lid has original liner. Included is a wire wheel spare, original
jack, tire pump and tools.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The dual overhead cam engine was completely
rebuilt and upgraded to the "M" 180 hp version. The motor
compartment looks respectable. It has been maintained. Over the
years it's had rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump and it was rewired.
UNDERSIDE: Looks very solid. Upgraded with XKE disc brakes in
front. Recent stainless exhaust system. Over the years it has been
properly maintained. The front end was rebuilt, trans rebuilt, new
clutch, gas tank replaced etc.
This is one of the last XK120s built, 93rd from the last. Because
of a,shortage of parts the factory used some XK140 parts like flat
seat backs, flat horn bottom and curved emergency brake handle.
Good documented history is very desirable and this car has it!
