$259 per month-call 636-600-4600 In 1909, Henry Ford told his
management team, "Any customer can have a car painted any color
that he wants so long as it is black." That rings true for this
1926 Model T Roadster as well. It's black, it was built in February
1926 and it's at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. This handsome little
Model T Roadster, was a recipient of a thorough and complete
restoration by the previous Nevada owner, under his 20 years of
ownership. Inside, the car has its original Dark Blue Gabardine and
Light Blue Patterned Cloth interior (code 503). The front bench
seat is in satisfactory condition, and there are blemishes on the
driver's side, but original. There are mats on the floor and the
light blue headliner is still in great condition. A two-spoke
steering wheel faces the driver while the blue, metal instrument
panel and inner door panels are in very good order. Fuel gauge is
inop. and the left side vent window is cracked. Rounding out the
interior are a factory AM radio and a Realistic cassette deck
installed below the dashboard. This Tin Lizzie rolls on Riverside
blackwall tires, size 4.40/4/50-21 at every corner. Each tire
surrounds a body-colored wire wheel, which were made available
beginning in January 1926. The tires are in satisfactory order
while the wheels are in very good condition. There is a spare tire
with wire wheel mounted in the rear. As was common then, this car
only has a driver's side taillight and windshield wiper. Under the
hood is Ford's 177 CID inline four-cylinder engine, mated to a
two-speed manual transmission. It actually has three speeds but the
third one is reverse. The engine on this Flivver has been upgraded
to include an electronic distributor, electronic starter, its
six-volt electrical system has a new coil, wires and a battery and
the engine has a new water pump, hoses and seals. Inside, the black
bench seats are in very good order. There are mats on the floor,
the four-spoke steering wheel is in good order, the instrument
panel is in very good order while the inner door liners are in
decent shape. For the final two model years, a design change made
the greatest difference in the appearance of the car. The hood was
again enlarged, with the cowl panel no longer a compound curve and
blended much more with the line of the hood. The distance between
the firewall and the windshield was also increased significantly.
This style is sometimes referred to as the "high hood." Major
features included a new chassis frame with longer front and rear
cross members, larger rear wheel brakes, engine/transmission
modified with new pedals, a larger brake drum, different fan mount,
coil box mounted on the engine, etc., and the fuel tank was in the
cowl. The styling on the last "generation" was a preview for the
following Model A, but the two models are visually quite different,
as the body on the A was much wider and had curved doors as opposed
to the flat doors on the T. The Model T was the first auto industry
benchmark; it was the vehicle all other American manufacturers
competed with and aspired to become; its competitors were too
numerous to list here. If you're looking for a latter Model T, one
of the last model years before Ford upgraded to the Model A, please
stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check out this black Flivver
from Nevada. VIN: 131901502 This car is currently located at our
