Vehicle Description
This is a cool classic that's five decades in the making. The
exterior looks like a C2 Sting Ray coupe, but beneath the custom
bodywork is a fire-breathing 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. So you
get all the iconic design lines, and it's now backed by an LS7 V8
upgraded by Lingenfelter, modern sports suspension, six-speed
manual, and all the modern amenities you could want.
If you've been keeping an eye on the Corvette scene, then you
already know about Karl Kustom Corvettes. These were low-batch,
six-figure creations that would take a modern drivetrain and
surround it with the Sting Ray body of your dreams. And because
these were hand-assembled, they really took the time to get it
right. So the panels have a terrific fit that give you the crisp
crease around the whole body that the C2 was famous for. Plus, this
low-mileage classic still retains a terrific gloss and shine. And
as you look closer, you'll love the details. Two-piece mirror-like
chrome bumpers, 427 badging, and flip-up headlights. And this one
earns its iconic stinger hood with all the power underneath (more
on that in a moment.) Plus, the triple taillight package was a cool
way back in the day to signal that you had a custom Corvette. This
also retains practical features like the brake cooling ducts and
large Z06 polished wheels to make sure that this retro machine is
still a modern performance juggernaut.
The interior gives you all the best pieces for a true modern sports
machine, but it also still gives you some cool vintage flair. For
example, the leather seats are a custom creation that combines the
well-bolstered power-adjustable buckets from the Z06, but they have
been customized to have the low-back look of the original Sting
Ray. In-between there is even a plaque identifying this as #005 in
the limited Z06 run. A proper limited edition car like this also
needs to come with all your favorite features. It includes dual
zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual airbags,
side air bags, AM/FM/CD changer stereo, power windows, power locks,
anti-theft system, keyless entry, and keyless ignition. There's
even the convenient windshield head up display (HUD). And while the
original Sting Ray didn't have a trunk opening, this one opens wide
enough for easy baggage loading. So feel free to take this cool
retro machine on a weekend getaway for two.
The core of the special Z06 package its original all-aluminum 427
cubic-inch V8. While this is the correct motor for the car, the
Lingenfelter covers are a dead giveaway that this is an elite
performance machine. It received a multi-angle valve job, ported
intake, 11.5:1 compression ratio, and GT21 camshaft. The
fuel-injected V8 inhales deeply with high flow air induction and a
four-inch mass air flow sensor. And it exhales with authority as
long tube headers add power while also contributing to the rumble
of the dual exhaust. The full package is rated a 650 horsepower - a
nearly 30% improvement over the Z06's already impressive numbers!
And when it's time for performance driving, the six-speed manual
transmission will happily get you to the 7,000 RPM redline. Massive
four-wheel vented disc brakes will stop like no '60s car ever
could. Plus, this is all part of the Z06 performance package with
an adaptive fully independent suspension topped off with Michelin
Pilot Super Sport performance tires.
Complete with owner's manual, few people could afford this kind of
distinction when it was offered, and you can't even get this
package today. So when collectability and drivability meet so
nicely, you know this will always have desirability. Don't miss
out, call today!
