Vehicle Description
This 2005 Chevrolet Corvette shows all those styling refinements
both inside and out that set its sixth generation apart from its
predecessors and, with under 40,000 miles under its belt and having
benefited from a lifetime of care, it's both looking and driving
great. It also comes with its original window sticker, owner's
manual, some maintenance receipts as well as a clean history
report.
Dressed in an awesome-looking Machine Silver shade, this is a ride
that will turn heads with ease. It shows all the hallmarks of a
sheltered existence - its paint still has a great shine with smooth
texture and when you take a look at the revamped headlights up
front, you'll find that they're crystal clear. From the side, its
world-beater of a profile strikes you right away, with tasteful yet
defined body contours and an aggressive incline from front to back.
When you combine this Corvette's low profile and sleek shape - it
sports a very low .28 drag coefficient - with the technological
refinements Chevy has lavished onto the suspension, you have the
opportunity to be sitting behind the wheel of a world class corner
carver right here. Its Targa top configuration is a real plus, as
it affords the ability to transition from open air driving to a
more sheltered experience as you so choose, and the removable top
on hand here still seals really well.
While rolling out this generation of 'Vettes, Chevy put a high
premium on equipping them with a more sophisticated interior
driving environment while upgrading the overall quality of the
components and you can definitely see the results of those efforts.
There's a lot to like inside these doors, starting with the power
black leather buckets that heat up promptly when called upon and
show very little wear over their surfaces. Lower yourself into the
driver's seat and you'll come face to face with one of the coolest
features Chevy's ever conjured up - its heads up display, which
unobtrusively projects vital motoring functions onto the lower
windshield to eliminate the need to look down at the instrument
panel. Should you do so anyway, you'll find that it - as well as
everything else in the dash area - is in good form, and all
interior functions are working just as intended. The steering
column tilts and telescopes into perfect position, the air
conditioning blows strong and cold and the AM/FM/CD stereo offers a
strong audio experience.
Sixth generation Corvettes like this one also benefited from some
upgrades under the hood, one of them being the enlarged
fuel-injected LS2 V8 on display here that's good for a full 400
horsepower. The power plant sits in an engine compartment that's
likely just as clean as it was when this '05 left the showroom and
pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission to put full control of
performance in the hands of the driver. All that power gets to the
pavement with plenty of efficiency, thanks to the limited slip
differential in back and, with a fully independent suspension in
both front and back teaming with precise power steering, handling
is very responsive and uneven surfaces are navigated easily. Power
disc brakes at all four corners bring this Corvette's set of
ultra-sharp aluminum spoked wheels - 18" in front and 19" in back
and outfitted with Michelin tires - to quick stops.
This Corvette is a great representative of its generation, and
having logged an unusually low number of miles, it's well
positioned to offer plenty of future driving excitement. Call
