Coupe for purchase. Sometimes car manufacturers bring back a
nostalgic name, but don't deliver on the modern performance that
the name should command. When Ford brought back the Shelby GT500
name in 2007, no such mistake was made. Ford's SVT team delivered a
beast with a 5.4L supercharged V8 with an iron block and four-valve
aluminum heads that provides 500 base horsepower. A Tremec 6-speed
gearbox routes all this power through a 3.31 limited-slip rear axle
capable of mid 4 second 0-60mph time. Careful suspension tuning by
Ford's engineers and a quick steering ratio make it feel
surprisingly nimble through the turns, while a liberal traction
control system allows for plenty of fun.
This 2008 Shelby GT 500 is a very desirable example with low miles,
excellent condition inside and out! It is finished in the classic
Performance White Clearcoat with contrasting blue stripes. The
interior features black sport seats that are very clean. It's
powered by the original 5.4L V8 engine and 6-speed manual
transmission. It's loaded with features including the premium audio
system, Brembo 14" vented disc brakes, 18" bright machined aluminum
wheels, over the top racing stripes, Sirius satellite radio, and
much more! It also features a number of upgrades such as a new Ford
Racing clutch, Ford Racing cold air intake, Axle back Ford
performance exhaust, as well as a tune that lets it pump out over
600 hp.
