Vehicle Description
1969 MG MGC
The MG C type was produced from late 1967 through 1969 and was
initially built as a replacement for British Leyland's Austin Healy
3000 Mark III. The inline 6-cylinder engine was designed and built
by Morris engines. With 2 SU carburetors the engine produced 145hp
at 5,250 rpm. This was a significant upgrade in performance over
the standard 4-cylinder version. Changes, given the larger size of
the in line 6 cylinder included a "bulge" in the hood, relocated
radiator, and carburetor tear drop in hood for greater
clearance.
For consignment a very nice example of an MG MGC in British Racing
Green, and black leather interior. This car comes with factory
painted wire wheels, and the desired 4-speed transmission with
overdrive. A very nice example of the rarest of B styled Cars from
1962 through 1980.
Exterior
British Racing Green, and pristine is seen covering the straight
and rust-free panels of this car. Gaps are good, and chrome is very
nice. A trim brite work molding can be seen on either side running
from front to back at the belt line. Front grille, headlight bezels
and badging are nearly showroom condition. A chromed round rear
view mirror sits proudly on the middle of the passenger fender. The
chrome framed windshield with side rotating wind wings is seen also
in very nice condition. 15" Rudge Type wire wheels are on all
fours.
Interior
A virtually new interior with plenty of leather. Dash, door panels,
and buckets, all covered in leather, and all pristine condition
with no crack's wrinkles etc. Perfect carpet covers the floor and
shows no wear. Like new gauges with chromed bezels rest within the
padded dash leather. A combination gear shift/cup holder is mounted
to the center of the hump, just below the dash.
Drivetrain
The 2.9 Liter 145 HP 6-cylinder engine is backed by a 4-speed
synchromesh manual transmission w/overdrive. Consigner states this
car has a top speed of 125 MPH.
Undercarriage
No real rust, surface or otherwise to speak of on this underside.
Seen are front disc, and rear drum power brakes, as well as a
torsion bar front suspension. Exhaust system is clean and rust free
as well.
Only 2,250 roadsters were imported to the USA. This MGC has a
consigner stated 41,000 original miles and is a beautiful example
of the MGC.
