Vehicle Description
1980 Chevrolet C10 Pickup
It's no secret that Chevrolet builds some of the most celebrated
trucks on the planet. From the AK era forward, every generation has
found a solid following and, eventually, firm footing in the
collector car world. Over the past few years, we've featured plenty
of vintage, ground-pounding bowties, and this righteous stepside is
just the latest in a series of sweet C/K head turners.
This consignment is the recipient of a 1999 full frame-off
restoration. During which time many new parts were put on, the body
was done over, and the engine replaced...with a monster. If you are
a fast truck fan, love deep green, fancy dropped spindles, oversize
wheels with low profile tires, and desire to own something where
you can turn the key and go showing or racing, this C-10 has your
name on its license plate.
Exterior
Mesmerizing Deep Metallic Green coats every corner of this step
side truck, and it's a very high quality job. Wonderful attention
to detail in the prep work separates the men from the boys, or a
quality paint job from MAACO, and this is quality with a capitol Q.
Chrome front bumper and grille/headlight configuration have been
retained, but all else has been shaved, including any evidence of a
rear bumper or badging. The bed is lined with chromed diamond plate
and I personally would be inclined to not put anything in it!
Interior
Standard, stock 1980 Chevrolet C10 Pickup interior, but very shiny
and clean. All gauges functioning perfectly, and padded dash
matches. Power windows, power door locks, tilt column, and a
Kenwood stereo are seen with in the dash. A gray vinyl bench
stretches from door panel to door panel, which are also covered
with grey vinyl. Black carpeting is all over the floor, and in very
nice condition.
Drivetrain
Sitting proudly in the engine bay is a 5.7 Liter Tuned Port Fuel
Injected Engine. A 700 R-4 Transmission that has 4-speed overdrive
follows closely behind. Long Tuber headers suck exhaust gases from
the engine, and head through dual exhaust.
Undercarriage
The term "clean as a whistle" applies here, as with any frame-off
restoration is done with quality in mind. Air bag rear suspension,
twin Flowmaster mufflers, and catalytic converters snake their way
through the underside. Wood appears to make up the undercarriage of
the bed area. A 12-bolt rear handles the torque put out to it from
the front end.
A truck which spent most of its after-restoration life in a
temperature controlled environment, until it went to a collector
car auction, and was picked up by the current consigner. This
gentleman states he needs room due to various other projects so is
regrettably parting with it. Now is your opportunity to come in,
turn the key, and begin turning heads, and lighting up drag strip
trees.
