2011 Bentley GTC Mulliner Specification
"... as a dashing, handsome, very fast, and extremely capable
four-seat luxury convertible, (the 2011 Bentley GTC) is extremely
hard to beat." - Car Magazine (UK) Given its nearly
quarter-million-dollar original window-sticker price, you'd rightly
expect the Bentley GTC would be a very good car. What's truly
gratifying to the fortunate few who actually manage to put one in
their garage is just how many superlatives the car merits across
the full spectrum of automotive design: luxury, build-quality, and,
certainly not least, performance. "Extremely hard to beat" is not
an overstatement in any of these respects. The Bentley GTC delivers
on a rich British heritage of meticulously crafted automobiles,
while treating its driver and passengers to a satisfying,
pleasurable experience on the road. And as to its exclusivity, this
is an automobile almost as certain to draw admiring stares, and to
routinely find its way to the first position in the valet-parking
queue at fine restaurants and resorts.
So, expect to be noticed in the "Silver Lake" blue GTC offered
here. Its styling is pure Bentley, bowing to no other automobile.
On the exterior, complemented by a 7-bow, triple-insulated,
dark-blue fabric top, the car is striking. Top-down reveals a
breathtaking, sumptuous interior, made all the more unique with the
car's optional Mulliner Driving Specification. This custom
package-including drilled-alloy sport foot-pedals, gear lever
finished in knurled chrome and leather, (in this case) light-tan
"magnolia" interior with diamond-stitched seating in contrasting
color charcoal thread, Bentley logo-embossing in the headrests,
birds-eye maple, blond wood trim, and leather-wrapped steering
wheel-makes this convertible's visual appeal undeniable. Release
the hood and gaze upon even more automotive art in the form of a
sensuous 6-liter, twin-turbocharged, 12-cylinder power plant, the
two banks of cylinders separated by "Bentley" spelled out
vertically. There is absolutely nothing ordinary about this
Bentley.
The engine's output of 567 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque,
the UK's Car magazine said, delivers performance that's "...bloody
quick in a straight line, and the new faster-changing QuickShift
six-speed... keeps those lunatic levels of torque-there's barely a
curve, just a dead straight line from less than 2000 rpm-and
effortless power coming snappily through at all times." This car is
a very sporting expression of luxury. Yet, as to driving comfort,
Car magazine continued their praise: "The ride quality on all but
the stiffest setting is wonderful on most roads... and thanks to a
phenomenally rigid body-the greatest torsional stiffness of any
soft-top on sale, says Bentley-you won't hear any creaking.... The
steering feels less assisted than before... and allows you to place
the car with astonishing accuracy." Continuous all-wheel drive adds
to handling prowess and peace of mind on slippery road
surfaces.
This lovely light-blue Bentley GTC is a true garage-kept, one-owner
find: a rare expression of imported-luxury, open-air motoring with
fewer than 11,000 total miles on the clock. It's here-appropriately
enough-at Garage Kept Motors in absolutely pristine condition, with
what can only be called a bargain price, awaiting its next proud
owner.
