Vehicle Description
The Grand Prix was offered as a convertible in 1967 only, a 1 year
model!
I sold this car 10 years ago and that couple babied and thoroughly
enjoyed it. ** We just spent $2,700 servicing this car- brakes,
suspension, a/c, carb etc. It is turnkey ready.
EXTERIOR: What a great color on this car and the paint job is
excellent if I might say so myself. The metal flake is laid out
evenly, the clear coat is buffed to a glossy smooth finish. All the
body panels fit dead on, they fit square and flush. If you look
close, yes you will find a few little touch ups or nicks, but I'm
telling you it's a quality body and paint. In front has the hidden
headlights which is unique to the GP. All the chrome and trim shows
real well, not new but shiny and straight. Grills are in great
shape, windshield looks new. The windows fit to the convertible top
really, really well especially for a convertible. The top is white
still very good. Has pearl white boot when the top is down. The
door jambs are very clean, painted nicely, weatherstrips are real
nice, bottom of door is clean. It has original stainless door edge
guards. If you're going to have one of these big Pontiacs, 8 lug
wheels are a must and this car has them!
INTERIOR: The pearl white interior is beautiful against the blue
exterior. I tell you what, I'm sitting in the car right now and
it's really well cared for. I'm looking at the dash and all the
chrome sparkles, the burl wood trim is excellent. The knobs, vents,
instrument cluster are all in really great shape. Has a factory
Am-Fm radio. Of course part of the Grand Prix package was bucket
seats and a console. The upholstery is in excellent shape and
cushions in the seats are still nice and firm. The door panels are
great, armrests are not cracked, even the cranks and handles are
excellent. Visors, mirror, seat belts are great too. The carpet is
excellent and it has reproduction Pontiac floor mats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Motor compartment is cleaned up nicely. It
looks stock. It has a stock 1967 400-360 hp H.O. engine with the
Pontiac aqua paint, original air cleaner and a 4-barrel carb. The
alternator and master cylinder look recently replaced. Factory air
conditioning system is all hooked up. Everything looks proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is huge, the full size spare is hardly
noticeable! Has jack and mat too. It looks like it's original clean
metal. I don't see any patching, quarter panels look like they're
the originals. It's been spatter painted. The bottom of the trunk
lid and the jamb is painted nicely, weatherstrip is excellent.
UNDERSIDE: Very clean and respectable. Floors look like solid
original metal. Clean braces, lower 1/4s, inner rockers. It's been
cleaned and a light coat of satin paint was applied to look nice.
Bottom of motor and trans are clean. Has original Turbo 400
automatic. Everything looks proper. The front end components look
good, e-brake cables are hooked up, nice dual exhaust etc. No
issues that I see, actually I was very pleased.
This is a sleek, yet handsome car with full size luxury and still
it's sporty. It is also a very nice example considering its colors,
options and condition. I consider it a very well preserved honest
car.
