Vehicle Description
The first Mustangs were fun, sporty cars to drive and this 2001
carries on that tradition with flying colors. It's a fun to drive
drop top Mustang with the advantage of a few technological advances
that make it safer and more efficient than the originals. And, it's
available at a fraction of the cost. So, feel free to enjoy the
ride. And the savings. Check it out.
With only 26,558 miles on it, this car was definitely not someone's
daily commuter. It was the car they took out for fun, maybe to the
mountains or the beach. It was obviously well cared for too. The
original Black paint is in excellent condition, with a great shine,
with only minor chips and scratches from use. These fourth
generation Mustangs were nicely redesigned with more aerodynamic
bodywork that looks great. The hood slopes down smoothly to a grill
that still sports a chrome galloping Mustang in the center. Body
colored bumpers reach for the ground with built in aero and the car
looks great whether you are cruising with the black power roof up
or down. Along the side of the car is a C shaped accent line that
pays tribute to the original by almost exactly copying it. Bulging
fenders cover low profile tires mounted on sharp looking alloy
wheels and the iconic triple taillights are still there with
Mustang embossed into the bumper just below them.
The Charcoal interior is all stock, looks like new, and is chock
full of those modern comfort and convenience features. The door
panel has a long armrest that's comfortable while cruising with the
power window and lock switches right at your fingertips. The power
bucket seats are comfortable and a four-spoke steering wheel feels
good in your hands with cruise control buttons under your thumbs
and an air bag for safety. The speedo, tach and engine gauges are
tucked back under a shroud to keep the glare of the sun off them,
and the dash contour flows smoothly down around the center console
and back up on the passenger side which also includes an airbag.
That console has the ventilation controls that include air
conditioning and there is a premium AM/FM/Cassette/CD stereo system
for your listening pleasure. The T-handle shifter for the 4-speed
automatic transmission sits just in front of the switch for the
power convertible roof which has a nice boot to stylishly cover it
up while it is down.
Under the hood you will find a neat and clean engine bay with a
3.8-liter V6 nestled down inside it. A cold air intake is the only
thing that has been done to this engine other than good regular
maintenance. It is a smooth-running fuel injected engine that makes
193 horsepower and 225-foot pounds of torque in stock form, and you
can probably add a few of each with the cold air intake, so its got
plenty of power to have tons of fun with. Power rack and pinion
steering along with a front sway bar gives the car great handling
characteristics and modern technology provides a nice measure of
safety with the antilock 4-wheel disc brakes. The rubber meets the
road through 225/55R16 tires at all four corners mounted on those
beautiful 5-spoke alloy wheels.
Low mileage, great looking, fun to drive. Come on down and check
out this sweet convertible. You might decide not to come back from
the test drive.
