Vehicle Description
This car has best of both worlds. It's a nicely restored Bel Air
with the looks, room and features that made this car popular when
it was introduced, combined with discreet, current gen, suspension
and drivetrain updates to make it a better riding, better handling
and reliable modern car. Come on down and take it for a ride and
see for yourself.
Looking more like a dignified member of your community than a
flashy local celebrity, this car is presented in Gray and Silver
that was professionally applied and looks fantastic. It's like it's
wearing a tailored suit for Sunday morning church or a fund-raising
dinner as opposed to a flashy Mardi Gras party. The colors nicely
compliment all the chrome that is one of the appeals of a Bel Air,
and all that chrome is shiny and new and looks amazing. The rocket
on the hood leads the way with a red, white and blue Chevy badge
just below it. An eggcrate grill is surrounded by chrome and
underlined with that bold, beautiful bumper. Chrome highlights run
from the front fender to the door, and then creatively divide the
two-tone paint on the rear fender. The stainless around the windows
is polished up and shines as brightly as the chrome, and the back
bumper has a couple chrome exhaust tips peeking out from
underneath.
Open the door and you will find more of the understated elegance of
this restoration. A two-tone Gray cloth interior echoes the look of
the paint on the car. The cloth is super comfortable and just begs
you to get in and settle in for a ride. Power windows are one of
the nice modern updates and all the switches are at the driver's
fingertips. The steering wheel with the full circular chrome horn
ring has that wonderful 1950s look and feel to it. The gauges in
the dash received a really nice update and redesign that keeps the
original feel of the car but does it with modern design and
functionality. The engine gauges are arrayed across the top with
the speedo in the center and gear indicators for the automatic
transmission are just below that. Off to the right are the
ventilation controls that include those for the Vintage Air system
to keep you cool. An AM/FM/Cassette player is there for your
listening pleasure and a fresh headliner and carpeting ties it all
together nicely.
Pop the hood on this car and you will find a modern 350 cubic inch
V8 that is as nicely dressed out as the rest of the car. A
polished-up air topper sits on top of an Edelbrock carburetor and
intake manifold. Chrome valve covers, master cylinder and brake
booster add to the flashy look. Billet pulley mounts for the
alternator and A/C compressor are polished up nicely too and there
is an aluminum radiator to keep things running cool. Shorty headers
twist and wind their way to a dual exhaust system and give the car
a nice sound. What you don't see easily is the nice suspension
upgrades. Up front, tubular control arms have coil over springs
with adjustable ride height capability. Power rack and pinion
steering adds to the precise feel of the handling and power front
disc brakes assure good stopping ability. At the rear, trailing
arms with the same type of adjustable coil over shock springs
provide the same advantages of good handling and ride.
Come on down and check this car out. It is a sweet combination of
classic good looks and modern updates that may make you want to
drive it home.
