Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this unique 1964 Amphicar
770. This rare gem is a head turner both on land and water. The 770
is the speed rating for land and water so it's easily remembered.
You will not have to worry about getting pulled over for speeding.
The first 7 represents 7 knots on water and the 70 is for 70mph on
land. The 770 is powered by a Triumph Herald I4 and paired to a
4-speed manual transmission. The engine has been completely rebuilt
by "Hokes Auto Repair" with upgraded carb. There is a new fuel tank
and electric fuel pump. The props are in good shape. All the chrome
has been replaced and looks good including new hubcaps, bumpers
etc. no major dents. Tires are in good condition as well. The car
starts easy and runs well. It does leak in water per the owner
which is said to be (typical) but is handled by the pumps. The
lower doors, rear wheel wells and rear back panels and hood have
all be replaced by rust proof fiberglass panels. The flat aft
quarter panels were upgraded to the better-looking panels with the
lips. The car was converted to negative ground and a nice stereo
system installed. The interior of this amphibious automobile is in
good condition with minimal wear and tear. The seats are a white
vinyl and in good shape with no major rips. This car has undergone
a restoration back in '05-'06 time frame and still shows well. For
