Vehicle Description
This is a ground up restored, #s matching big block SS. Even the
underside is detailed. Documented with copy of original build
sheet.
EXTERIOR Finished in a striking yellow with the black SS stripes.
The body has very clean metal. It fits nice, it is straight with no
bubbles or issues I could find. New black vinyl top. Upfront the
bumpers, turn signal bezels, grill, hood pins all look new. In back
the bumper is a very nice original, has a new license plate
bracket, trunk emblem and the correct cowbell exhaust tips. The
windshield, weather strips and window seals have been replaced.
Door jambs are painted just as nice as the outside, new sill
plates.
INTERIOR: It is in really nice shape. New cushions and reproduction
upholstery. Also new seat backs and headrests. New carpet and
carpeted floor mats. New headliner, door panels, window cranks,
handles and armrests. The center console and dash is very nice
original with no holes or cracks. They installed a retro stereo
fitted right into the factory hole. You can monitor the engine
vitals with the gauge cluster neatly mounted under the dash.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is actually over restored because it's much
glossier and prettier than the factory would have made it. The
yellow jambs and bottom side of the hood are painted as nice as the
car. Inner fenders, firewall and core support is all done in a very
smooth gloss black finish. The 400 big block is vin # matched to
the car. It is upgraded with Edelbrock intake, Holley carb with
electric choke, HEI ignition and headers. Has a clean coat of Chevy
orange paint with chrome valve covers, air cleaner, goose neck and
alternator. All the components look real good- brackets, pulleys,
master cylinder, wiper motor etc. Wiring and hoses all look neatly,
properly run. The air conditioning system has been upgraded with
new air compressor and R134 freon.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Has a really clean, all metal trunk compartment
with no signs of patches. Nice spatter coat finish paint. Includes
a mat, jack and spare. The trunk jamb and bottom of the lid is
painted real glossy, has new jacking instruction decal and
weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Super clean metal, it was so clean they painted it gloss
black. The floors and frame are smooth. Has F-41 suspension which
includes sway bars and boxed control arms. Bottom of the motor is
spotless, has high torque starter. The Turbo 400 trans is correct
to the car and clean looking. The 12 bolt rear end is original to
the car. Has a fat dual exhaust system. Shocks, brakelines are
newer.
There are a lot of clones out there which is fine, but if you want
a true #s matching, documented big block Chevelle SS there are not
many to choose from. Here is one right in front of you that happens
to be restored beautifully!
