Vehicle Description
1930 Chevrolet 3 Window Coupe
What happens when you take an all steel '30 Chevrolet body, bolt it
to a rebuilt frame, drop in a modded Chevrolet V8 and pile on a
list of mind blowing parts for good measure? You get one incredible
street rod that instantly becomes the center of attention wherever
it goes! Featuring a traditionally clean appearance, a custom
leather interior and a level of detail that requires multiple looks
to fully comprehend, this stunning 3-Window Coupe is a compilation
of top-notch components. And what's better: it's a fully sorted,
professionally finished cruiser that was built, above all else, to
be driven and enjoyed. If you're the kind of enthusiast who wants
an impressive classic that you can hop in, turn the key and go
cruising with, your chariot has arrived!
An Arizona VIN, certainly from Arizona where it is dry dry dry,
which means no snow, no salt, no winter! Just unadulterated
metal.
Exterior
The all steel body draped in black with a red pinstripe cutting
across the beltline, great curving fenders connected by a running
board and almost edible shiny chrome, announce the arrival of a
real head turning monochromatic rod. Weld chromed mags wrapped by
new radials are on all 4 corners. With a gleam that it could be a
fishing lure, a truly fine example from way back in 1930...Chrome
Bumper to Chrome Bumper. Even the custom laser cut rear dual bowtie
stop lights, and the battery shutoff are outstanding additions.
Interior
Comfortable black overstuffed leather buckets occupy a pristine
interior, all in black with a peppering of polished aluminum knobs,
cranks and chrome bezeled gauges. Carpeting envelops the floor, and
meets up to truly custom padded door panels with a padded bowtie
logo, broken up by a custom designed swooping door handle/arm rest.
The glistening dash housing all the essential gauges, is centered
above the automatic shifter. A leather covered chromed inside banjo
style steering wheel harkens back to the era, and is of smaller
proportions to the original for easy in and out of the car.
Drivetrain
Peeking under the front cowling your eye is caught by a massive
350ci V8 with a Turbo 350 transmission. Custom Edelbrock valve
covers, and air cleaner housing, as well as plenty of chromed
engine parts. Powder coated headers snake their way under the car.
One of the few classics that the mill attracts as much attention as
the car.
Undercarriage
One word could be used to describe the underside of this rod, and
that is showroom! Dual exhaust work their way back and sport
chromed rear tubing. Beautiful front suspension, and disc brakes
are seen, as well as in the rear the drums have been totally
rebuilt. A massive differential connects the axles and ultra-wide
tires. Some wood is noted in the drivers pan area, and is varnished
and new looking.
This midnight prowler can sneak up on its prey, and bite, or just
sit there and make visual noise. Excellent restoration completed in
2013 by Walt's Hot Rods form Downingtown, Pennsylvania, where no
stone has been left unturned.
