Vehicle Description
It's time to re-live some memories or make some new ones in this
1991 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Camper. This is the product of a
long-term restoration, and so you're looking at a turn-key classic
camper that's just begging for a road trip.
If you're looking at this van, you better be prepared to make some
new friends. That's because the VW Vanagon is the more powerful,
larger, and nimbler successor to the iconic VW Bus. And that spirit
lives on thanks to its unmistakable silhouette. So there is plenty
of character and camaraderie of ownership. The white paint is
exceptionally well preserved, and it only gets better with a
genuine camper built by VW's official conversion specialist
Westfalia. The consignor has had this for over three years, and he
spent that time restoring it with the best components around. In
fact, this one is now obviously ready for an adventure with
upgrades like the steel bumpers, PIAA lights, and larger 16-inch
Mercedes-style alloys (including a full-size spare on a swing-away
mount.) And VW fans will notice some great upgrades like the
quad-headlight package that makes this look like a go-anywhere
Syncro. Plus, when you get to the camp, this one has everything you
want, from the detachable bumper-mounted grille, to the built-in
8ft retractable awning.
The driver gets all the right comforts sitting behind the high-back
gray cloth bucket seat. It has good bolstering and armrests to make
sure it's long-haul comfortable. Plus, there's power steering,
AM/FM/cassette stereo, upgraded gauges, power windows, and power
locks. So everything you could want is at your fingertips. Plus,
there was a backup camera added for better utility. The air
conditioner was even serviced as part of this restoration. But the
true luxuries are all behind the driver's seat. There was plenty of
time and investment making sure this genuine Westfalia retained its
best comforts in the wilderness. So classic element like the
cabinetry, cushy seating, and pop-up roof tent are looking great.
Plus, the restoration included the 120V electrical system upgrades,
a new fridge, new fresh water pump, new curtains, and much more
(call for all the details.) The result is a classic look on the
outside but a level of comfort that leaves you wanting for nothing
on the inside.
When you look in the engine bay, you'll see a motor that looks as
fresh as the rest of this restored VW. That's no accident. You're
looking at a proper 2.2-liter flat four supplied by the Vanagon
masters at GoWesty Camper Products. This fuel-injected powerplant
was installed less than 800 miles ago! Around the same time a new
three-speed automatic transmission from German Transaxle of America
was also installed. This one even has the right supporting upgrades
to be a great road trip machine, such as a bigger brake kit
(w/discs up front,) transmission cooler, upgraded FI system, a new
sway bar, and Bilstein shocks.
This is the classic camper that's ready to hit the beach, concert,
or even a week under the stars. It's the Vanagon you've always
wanted, and it has been carefully restored to be ready right now.
