Vehicle Description
They started with a super clean Satellite and did a ground up, high
quality restoration as a Road Runner. We bought this car from Rust
Oleum corporation. They used this car in their both at trade shows
to show off new products.
EXTERIOR: Body and paint are outstanding. It is absolutely laser
straight, I don't care who wants to challenge me on that one. The
body panels fit square and flush. The B-5 blue paint is laid out
evenly, the clear coat finish is buffed out like glass. You can
read the owner's manual in the reflection. Has satin black hood
stripes and hood pins. Rechromed bumpers, grill is cleaned up,
taillights are near mint. All the stainless trim around the windows
and top have been straightened and polished. The vinyl top was
replaced. All the glass is real nice and clear, windshield is new
along with the gasket. Vent window rubber is new. The door jambs
are painted real nice, new weatherstrips, latches are cleaned.
Bottom of the doors are clean. Door shuts like a new car. Brand
new- we just installed 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels and BFG tires.
INTERIOR: It is super tidy clean inside this car. First thing I
notice is just how nice the dash and instrument area is. So many of
these Mopars come in and pieces are mismatched or broken or cut up.
This one looks great. Has neatly installed aftermarket stereo.
Under the dash is an oil and temp gauge, also a 12 volt power
source. Cool tachometer mounted on the column. The seats have been
completely reupholstered in the correct reproduction material, has
buckets in front. New seat belts front and back. The side panels
have been replaced. New armrests, carpet, headliner, mirror.
Overhead light works, good looking shifter, steering wheel has a
leather wrap sewn onto it, inside of the glove box is clean. Very
fresh, tidy and proper.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has freshly built performance 440 motor, it
still looks spotless. Put together with stainless bolts. Upgrades
include a high rise Edelbrock intake and carb, MSD ignition and
headers. Has the factory style air cleaner and finned valve covers.
The engine bay is spotless to. The metal looks pristine with a
gloss blue finish. Everything on the firewall looks new, hinges
look new. They used stainless bolts on the fenders. The washer
bottle and hoses are hooked up. Bottom of hood is painted blue, has
correct insulation and the latches are detailed. Alternator, fan
shroud, clutch fan, master and booster look new. It even has the
Road Runner "beep beep" horn. Under the hood of this car is about
as new as they get. Very proper and orderly too.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All clean original metal trunk floor and 1/4
panels. The wheel tubs were carefully made wider to accommodate a
fat tire. It has been painted gray and white spatter finish. Bottom
side of the trunk lid and the jamb is painted blue as nice as the
outside of the car. New weatherstrip, cleaned latches.
UNDERSIDE: Oh boy, I see a 4-speed and a Dana 60 rear end! Upfront
it has disc brakes, calipers and hoses look new. Steering
components look good. New shocks. Bottom of motor is spotless. The
4-speed looks spotless too. In back it has new shocks and fuel
tank. The Dana 60 is the heavy duty rear end. E-brake cables are
hooked up. Exhaust looks recent and has crossover pipe. Floors are
really clean, rock solid. They appear to be original, not patched.
Has the factory tabs at the bottom of the 1/4s. They added frame
connectors to prevent body twist. Very clean and orderly
underneath.
It looks outstanding and runs strong! The closer I inspected this
car, the better it got. That doesn't happen often!
