Vehicle Description

1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe

Before the Bel Air in the 50's Chevrolet's go to trim line was the Deluxe. It was the sales leader for Chevrolet during the 40s and in 1940 the special deluxe was introduced as the more expensive version of the master deluxe. This 41 is one of those Special Deluxe cars and received some upgraded stylings that would be come the standard from then on. One of the most notable is the headlights which were now sunk into the fenders versus being more prominent and mounted on top like previous years. The car you see here is a nice example of one of these cars and was well built. It was found in an Iowa barn in the mid 90s with only 70,000 original miles. It was a great base to start with and from there was transformed into the cool street rod you see today. It is an original steel car and the body is in good condition with no apparent rust issues. The paint is a PPG Deep Dark Cranberry which as you can see in our pictures has a really nice shine. On a cloudy day it takes on a more dark Burgundy appearance but pull it out in the sun and you will see the color really come to life. It features a lot of very nice hand painted pinstriping work running down the sites with larger designs on the deck lid, cowl and nose. Big grills were still a thing in this era and this one is nicely chromed with Red accents. All of the stainless trim and brightwork looks great and doesn't have any pitting or issues. This is a two door model and both the doors are solid shutting with that tight thud which is one good indicator of how well the car was constructed. The car looks great rolling down the road and sits on a set of Halibrand aluminum wheels (14 in front, 15in rear) with knock off spinner caps.

Under the hood of this cool cruiser is a crate GM 350 which was installed in 1998. It runs well and received a lot of chrome add ons and a March pulley system. Since completed it has been well cared for receiving all tune ups, oil changes, and repairs when needed. It has a great sound with headers and dual exhaust which is routed through chrome tips under the rear bumper. It has zero heating issues thanks to the aftermarket Walker radiator with electric fan and shroud. The transmission is a 700R4 automatic with overdrive and utilizes a remote cooler. The rear end is a 10 bolt out of a Nova. Up front you will find it has been upgraded with a Mustang II independent front suspension which is the perfect set up to get a smooth ride out of these older model street rods. Power steering has been added along with power brakes and the front are disc. The battery for the car was relocated to the trunk which cleans up the engine compartment and gives you easy access to it when needed. A smooth firewall insert was also added which also cleans up the engine compartment nicely. Other nice additions include the no cap gas fill insert so you just press on the cover to release it, pump your gas, and go.

The interior features Grey cloth throughout on the original bench seats and panels. The interior has plenty of room which is actually one of the cooler features of the car. A lot of street rods out there don't have back seats and if they do they are often so cramped they are unusable. This one has plenty of room so you can go out for a cruise with the whole family! The dash of the car has a great look and was painted to match the body. It features a lot of the original style trim but also incorporates some nice modern upgrades. This includes the Vintage Air AC/Heat controls, Dakota Digital gauges, and billet bezels. In front of the driver sits a Ididit tilt column with a Lecarra steering wheel. As mentioned before the trunk houses the battery but also a spare and jack. The car also comes with a heavy duty California car cover and Black Wardlow Kustom Mask to protect the front end.

If you are in the market for a nice solid street rod that doesn't break the bank this is a great opportunity. It isn't everyday you can get into a cool street rod this solid with a lot of modern comforts for less than 30K.

You can't beat this price of only $26,450.00!
