Vehicle Description
You're looking at the ultimate lead sled. This 1951 Mercury Eight
has been customized so much over every inch both inside and out
that you'll likely never going to see another one like it. So dig
into the details on the V8 power, A/C interior, air ride
suspension, and all the unique paintwork surrounding this
detail-oriented custom.
Take a long look at the body. This Mercury has all the great traits
of the legendary hot rods like the frenched headlights, shaved door
handles, etched glass, lake pipes, and dual spotlights. Plus, great
custom elements like the floating chevron grille have been expertly
integrated to make it look like they were there from day one. And
of course, our favorite custom element has to be the paint. The
white-hot tequila flame at the front fades into yellow before
getting red at the tips. It's all highlighted further by a blue
boarder that's a great dividing line to the deep blue metallic
paint that underlines it all. This is such a comprehensive and
custom paintjob that you're likely to win awards for this alone.
But then you might also spot some more great details, like the
air-brushed skeletons. At first they just look like vapor trails
for the flame work, but really we think it's the souls of the
lesser cars this custom has consumed.
When you pop the remote door opener, make sure you do it for both
the front and rear door. Because once people see the cool suicide
setup, you'll instantly know why you want a sedan. And when they
peek inside, they'll see a full custom and very coordinated setup.
Up front, the white seats look fresh, and the supple leather means
they'll feel great, too. The rear ones match the front pattern, and
they have a movie theater-style setup, because after all, this car
puts on a show. The rest of the panels and headliner also
coordinate to give this a very uniform presentation. Even the
exterior-matching dash has more of those air-brushed skulls for a
cool custom look. This has all the best upgrades for comfort, too.
It has features like power front seats, an AM/FM/CD stereo w/iPod
input, full speaker upgrade, armrest center console, and ice-cold
R134a air conditioning. As a true cruising machine, you get all the
best driving features, including a Nardi steering wheel, tilt
column, durable Teleflex gauges, and digital controls for the full
Air Ride suspension.
Look under the hood and be amazed. With the polished valve covers,
air topper, compressor, piping, and intake, we pretty much dare you
to find another component that could be turned into brightwork. And
the inner fender walls continue to show you this is one evil
machine! More than just look great, you have the proven power a 350
cubic-inch V8. Topped with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and
Edelbrock intake, it does a fine job of making plenty of power and
a sweet rumble for the dual exhaust. And a custom sedan like this
is the kind of car you want to comfortably cruise everywhere.
That's why it also has features like an updated independent front
suspension, three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and
front disc brakes. And the adjustable air ride is perfect for
keeping you comfortable on the open road, and then wherever you
park, you get to watch jaws drop as you drop this Mercury low to
the ground.
With only 2,604 miles on the whole build, this Mercury lead sled
not only looks fantastic, but also this compete custom build was
made to run strong all day long. Don't miss the all-around stunner.
