1985 was the second year for the C4 Corvette, and little did this
car know that C4s would be produced for another decade! Though some
facelifts occurred along the way, the C4 Corvette was produced from
1984 until 1996. Upon its introduction in 1984, the C4 brought both
praise and criticism as it was the first full redesign of the
Corvette in a long while. Nowadays, the C4 still incites
controversy among enthusiasts, but there is no denying that it
retains that 'Corvette feeling.'
This example is a well-preserved, nice quality daily driver that
has received maintenance and upgrades in all of the right places.
The paint is lustrous and attractive and shows well due to being a
recent repaint. Though it appears to have been repainted in the
original color, it has been painted solid silver rather than the
original silver/gray two-tone. A previous owner opted to install
newer C5 Corvette wheels in place of the original "sawblades;" a
tasteful upgrade that gives the car a sportier look. The body is
clean, straight, and sure to turn some heads in this eye-catching
silver!
The interior is in excellent original condition with the exception
of the seats, which have been recovered in high-quality, durable
marine vinyl. Because this is a targa top Corvette, no doubt the
marine vinyl seats will be an added bonus for anyone looking to
have the top off on a regular basis! And, believe it or not, the
digital dash is working exactly as it should be. You never see
these digital readouts working correctly, but like the rest of the
car shows, this car must have been maintained meticulously for
everything to be this clean and this functional.
Under the hood is the original engine which has a few light
upgrades and could be described as a mild build. Overall, it looks
original and cleans up decently. This car runs and with a turn of
the key sounds incredible thanks to a mild cam, new exhaust and
tune. Without a doubt, it is definitely faster than a stock 1985
Corvette! All recent maintenance work has been performed by Midnite
Auto LLC in Mooresville, NC. Additionally, this car has option FE7
High-Performance Suspension as well as the Z51 Performance Package.
Other fun features include side mirror defoggers and a 4+3 manual
transmission with overdrive.
If you're looking for a fun weekend cruiser or a classic Corvette
to take to the next level, this is the car for you! It would be an
excellent candidate for a daily as-is, or with a little work an
excellent choice for a show car.
