For Sale: 1962 Chevrolet Impala in Seekonk, Massachusetts

Vehicle Description

Presenting a beautiful 1962 Chevrolet Impala 409 that is awesome!  If you’ve been searching for a show quality 1962 Impala that runs and drives great you’ve met your match.   The 1962 model featured new "C" pillar styling for all models except the 4-door hardtop. Sport Coupe models now featured the "convertible roof" styling, shared with other GM "B" full-size hardtop coupes. This style proved popular. The "overhang" roof style of the sedans was replaced with a wider "C" pillar with wraparound rear window. Engine choices for 1962 included a small block 327 V8 and a big block 409 V8.  The 409 was only available with a manual transmission.  The Beach Boys produced a hit single, "409," referring to the Chevrolet, which became an iconic song for these cars.   As the VIN number indicates this car was built in Los Angeles as a 1962 Chevrolet Impala V8 2-door sport coupe.  This car is believed to be an original 409 car but with no documentation and a non-original engine we can’t document this.  This car was completely restored from top to bottom.  The body is straight and the hood, doors and trunk lid open/close very nice.  As the trim tag indicates this car retains its original color of Ermine white.  The color is complemented with a blue side body molding that matches the interior.  The paint has been detailed and shines beautifully. All the glass, trim, chrome and emblems are in great condition.  The car sits on white faced wheels that are wrapped with brand new Hankook Optima 215-75-14 tires.  These tires provide a more comfortable ride then the original style Bias Plys.  A set of four BF Goodrich 8.00x14 Bias Ply tires are included.  As the trim tag also indicates this car retains its original interior color of blue.  The white and blue color combination is beautiful.  The interior has been completely restored and looks great.  The bench seat is comfortable and feels firm.  There’s nothing cooler than a bench seat with four on the floor!  Everything in the interior works as it should including the steering column mounted tachometer.  The trunk compartment is completely restored and neatly organized.  The engine compartment is nicely detailed and home to a date coded 409 V8.  The casting number 3788068 indicates a 1962-1963 409 V8.  The heads casting numbers 3814690 indicates 1962-1963 High Performance heads.  The intake casting number 3814881 indicate a 1962-1964 GM 409 Aluminum Dual Quad Intake.  The carburetor numbers 33615 and 38045 indicate Dual Quad 409 Carter AFB.  This engine starts instantly when cold and runs beautiful.  It sounds so sweet out the slightly custom exhaust system.  The engine is coupled with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that shifts very nicely.  The clutch is also very easy to use and responsive.  The power is transferred through the 10-bolt POSI rear end with 411 gears.  This car is equipped with power steering which works excellent.  The undercarriage is clean and presentable.  Everything underneath has been restored or replaced including rear shocks with air bags inside the coils.  This car is also equipped with upgraded power brakes and dual master cylinder.  Although this car is show quality it was restored to be a high end driver.   It attracts serious attention it goes and is a blast to drive.

**IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A DOCUMENTED CAR WITH AN ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBERS ENGINE THAT’S A TRAILER QUEEN THIS ISN’T THE CAR FOR YOU.  IT’S NOT PRICED LIKE THAT CAR EITHER.  THIS CAR IS PRICED VERY FAIR BASED ON EVERYTHING IT IS.**
