1989 was the last year for the classic 107 body Mercedes-Benz.
Being that it was the last year, the 1989 model year cars are the
most highly sought after by collectors. While most of these cars
have high miles the example offered here has 62,000 miles. This car
is a one family owned example and is all original and has been
lovingly maintained throughout its life.
Originally purchased in Virginia, it comes to us through an estate
were the father, the original owner of the car had passed away.
After holding onto the car for a long period of time, the family
decided to sell it.
This 560SL had been maintained it to the highest standards. Minimal
work was needed but like every one of our cars it received a
thorough inspection. To get the car ready for sale we had
performed:
Change oil and filter
Replace rear brake pads, rotors, grease all friction points
Replace air-conditioning expansion valve, fan clutch, temperature
switch, evacuate and recharge AC system
Replace hood pads
Replace exhaust hangers
Removes and adjust convertible hardtop latch
Change brake fluid
Read torque all sub frame it melts
This Mercedes is now ready to be driven and enjoyed. Everything in
the car works exactly as it should. With a twist of the key, the
engine fires to life immediately and idols smoothly. There is no
smoke on start up. It makes excellent power and has smooth shifts.
On the day that we photographed the car, it was 90� outside. The
air conditioning was blowing cold and hard, and it was very
comfortable in the cabin. Every light, every function, and every
control works exactly as it should. Even the cruise control works.
This 560SL maintains its original Becker radio and it has clean
graphics and crystal clear LCD.
The convertible top is in excellent condition, with clear rear
windows. Inside the leather is excellent and has no dye work. There
are no cracks on the dashboard or on the wood. The paint is
believed to be all original. Other than some small scratches from
use over the years it is an excellent condition. As expected, there
is no rust to be found anywhere. The wheels are flawless and the
tires are in excellent condition.
As expected, the hard top is included and is in the same condition
as the rest of the car.
