Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this beautiful 1967
Mercury Cougar for sale in their Indianapolis showroom. Mercury
introduced the Cougar in 1967 as the Pony Car wars were in full
swing. Based on the original Mustang, the Cougar was designed to be
an upscale performance icon and an alternative to the popular
Mustang. The Cougar was intentionally styled with a European flair
to set it apart from other Pony Cars of the day. The concealed
headlights were only offered on the first-generation cars,
1967-68-69. This Cougar has been cared for by its current owner
since 1995 and has had many updates and modifications over the
years. Newer leaf springs, front coils, Eldelbrock intake,
electronic ignition, traction bars, tachometer, modern audio,
radial tires, chrome wheels, B&M shifter, hood scoop, fog
lights, and new windshield. Power comes from the 289 V8 mated to a
C4 automatic transmission. The unique paint, and added extras make
this Cougar a standout wherever it goes. Be sure to visit our
webpage at www.gatewayclassiccars.com to view 100+ HD pictures, as
