Vehicle Description

1970 Chevrolet Caprice 2dr Hardtop All matching 454ci 345hp engine, TH400 transmission & dual exhaust 28900 actual miles on this unrestored Chevy classic in "Like New" condition. Heres a classic you dont see every day. A 1970 Chevrolet Caprice 2dr Coupe. Most prefer the Impala over the Caprice because of the Impalas long history of iconic status dating back to 1955 but ... when the Caprice was introduced in the late 60s, it instantly became the Top of the Line Chevy moving forward. It had alot more luxury features over the Impala but in most cases, didnt have the engine options or notoriety of the Impala.... UNTIL this one came along. If we could be allowed to exaggerate a bit, we would like to label this car as a Caprice SS... It was built more to the specs of an Impala SS. While having the upgraded wood finishing and custom details of a Caprice, it does not have some of the features of the Caprice such as power windows. Instead, it was factory ordered with a monstrous 454ci engine, 345hp and a Quadrajet 4barrel carburetor, all of which are still on the car today. While lacking an option or two that you would expect on a Caprice such as power windows, it more than makes up for under the hood. This Caprice came factory equipped with a Turbo Jet 454ci high output 345hp engine, a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 transmission and dual exhaust. Make no mistake, this beautiful Caprice was built as someones sleeper. It is nicely optioned with Four Season Air Conditioning which is Ice Cold today. power disc brakes (JL2 code), power steering, a stereo tape player & AM radio, beautiful black knit cloth interior which looks as good as new, head restraints, hideaway wipers, Soft-Ray tinted glass, a clock that still works and more.... This all original car has just 28900 actual miles. It was Sold to L.E. McCain of Bremen Georgia on September 20th, 1969 for an impressive $5005.00 by the Jones Motor Company, this Caprice is basically in the same condition as the day it left the dealership 48 years ago. Take a look at the many photos showing every inch of this car. You will see for yourself that this is a well maintained, very low mileage classic with alot to offer and a long life ahead of it. The condition is superb inside and out. Take a look at the steering wheel which is a good indicator of usage. It is literally perfect without a mark on it. Paint shines beautifully without a scratch anywhere. If it isnt 100% original paint, its darn close, and was done decades ago. There is NO bondo or rust anywhere. Not even surface rust. All chrome and trim are flawless. For the interior, it is 100% original and in perfect condition. Everything works as it should including the clock. AC is ice cold. The black knit seating is as good as new. There are no dash cracks and all gauges are crystal clear and work perfectly. The original engine starts, drives and runs perfectly. Power brakes and tires are 80% or better. You will certainly enjoy this trouble free classic for decades to come! Documentation is all original and includes the build sheet, window sticker, invoice, dealer delivery checklist and owners manual. All engine numbers and carburetor numbers have been verified as 100% original. This is an incredibly original car with a full documented history, an original low mileage powerhouse 454ci 345hp engine that drives like a new car and needs absolutely NOTHING! Chevy fans; this car is for you!
