Vehicle Description
1961 Ford Falcon 2dr Sedan FMC has always been a fan of these
little inexpensive compact cars of the past that has been kept in
excellent and original condition. This is a beautifully example of
one of them. A beautifully restored Ford Falcon that is absolutely
amazing. Although these cars were produced in large numbers in the
early 60s, they are extremely hard to find today; especially in
this condition. Production numbers exceeded 150,000 in 1961. They
can be seen everywhere. Today, you can go years without seeing one.
When you do see one, it is usually a rusty old mess or has had an
oversized 350ci Chevy stuffed into it. This car is different. It is
in Impeccable original condition and looks as if it left the
factory a few weeks ago. The Falcons history began in 1960. The 61
as this is, was basically unchanged from the 1960 model. The model
continued through the 60s and was highly successful. So successful
that it became the starting point for the first Mustang in 1964
having used the frame of the Falcon for its basic size and
wheelbase. Not a bad history for what was thought of as a
throw-away car with a selling price of under $2000 in 1961. This
Falcon has been refinished in its factory color of Corinthian
White. The paint looks like new. All body panels are original,
straight and all rust free. This car has never seen rust anywhere.
Truly amazing considering these cars were prone to rust. All Chrome
is gleaming with no pitting or scratching of any kind. The same can
be said for its trim pieces. They are perfect. The interior has
been restored to day one condition. Seating is like new. The dash
has been refinished in its original blue. The gauges are all
perfect and work properly. The undercarriage is very clean and
based on these facts, we believe that the odometer reading of just
39000 is actually. We can not say this for certain but a good look
at this car will basically confirm this. The bullet-proof 170ci
6cyl runs and drives as it should. Starting is easy and it stops as
it was designed to. If your looking for an inexpensive piece of
Ford history, this is it. It wont beat your Chevelle or Cuda in any
races but it will get as many looks and maybe more. Wanna bet? As
you can tell, this Falcon has just arrived. New photos will be
posted shortly.
