Vehicle Description
1968 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
From boulevard cruising to backroad bruising, it's hard to find a
better all-around performer than a Corvette. And once Chevrolet
firmly established the brand as a global tour de force, it began a
constant quest to achieve increasing levels of performance and
desirability. No generation of Corvette emphasizes the transition
from muscle car to all-out sports car better than the C3.
This numbers matching Corvette with an interesting color
combination, graces our halls here at Classic Auto Mall. It stands
out as something different for the Corvette aficionado due to the
blue interior. Just hearing this one may take pause, but seeing is
believing, and this writer is hooked on the combo.
Exterior
972 Polar White respray in correct color match shows some checking.
Side exhaust matching the exterior with factory covers hang from
both sides of the car and offer a sound that reverberates right
back to 1968. T-tops and a pop out rear window turn this "shark"
into all but a convertible. Dayton wire wheels adorn all four
corners. (This car is available with 4 correct rally wheels as
well)
Interior
Medium Blue vinyl code 414 only available in 1968 model year,
covers the buckets, door panels, and dash. This creates a beautiful
combination to the exterior white. Some fading and a little wear is
seen on the drivers chair, however overall it presents in good
condition. Center console is wrapped in blue and uses aluminum
highlighting as well as some black and a large chrome shift knob to
set everything off. Also, a wood steering wheel adds a nice touch
to the overall interior. Carpeting throughout appears as slightly
faded.
Drivetrain
A 327ci/350hp numbers matching power mill is backed by a 4-speed
Muncie manual transmission, resides in an overall clean engine bay.
Power steering, power brakes, and factory AC are installed as extra
options. A gander underside reveals 4-wheel disc brakes, a good
condition frame, as well as a clean underside.
Just a very nice looking, well sorted 1st year C-3 Stingray that
runs and sounds like it did in '68. If you are in the market for a
well-equipped early Corvette that's ready to cruise, do not
hesitate on this one...When the shark bites....!
