The seventh generation of the Cadillac's personal luxury car grew
in length from the previous generation and represented the pinnacle
of American land yachts. Rear fender skirts, opera windows
integrated into the "C" pillar, a massive 500 cu in (8.2L) V8
backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission and a full leather
interior were standard on the Eldorado. Other distinguishing
features include: a newly designed crosshatch rectangular grille,
front bumper guards with rub strips, quad headlamps with individual
chrome bezels, mid-body polished side molding, and semi-tubular
side contours culminating into a pronounced fairing that housed the
vertical tail lamps. Also, who can forget the prominent Cadillac
hood ornament? The underpinnings of the Eldorado were comprised of
front A-arms, 4 link rear suspension with coils and a solid rear
axle, Stopping power came in the form of power front disc & rear
drum brakes. A welcome sight inside is the driver-oriented curved
instrument panel with wood trim accents that carry over to the
leather-wrapped door panels. Standard options were as follows:
variable-ratio power steering, power windows, power locks, power
seats, heater/defroster, center front armrest, front and rear
ashtrays with cigarette lighters, electric clock, courtesy lights,
rear compartment lights, glovebox light, map light, trunk light,
door panel safety light, front/rear side marker lights, three-speed
wipers with washer, remote driver mirror, Flow-Thru ventilation
system, day-night mirror, anti-theft ignition key buzzer, front
head restraints. This Cadillac is a very original example and even
wears the correct Casablanca Yellow paint and white vinyl roof that
it came with from the factory. Medium Maze leather trim was
selected along with Cruise Control and Soft Ray Tinted Glass. Other
options include push button AM-FM radio, white wall tires, door
edge guards, lamp monitors, rear window defogger, automatic level
control, rubber floor mats, Automatic Climate Control, right side
remote mirror, and tilt/telescope steering wheel. The 5-digit
odometer reads "33661". Inspection report available upon request.
