For Sale: 1979 Jeep CJ7 in Palmetto, Florida

Vehicle Description

The Jeep CJ or "Civilian Jeep" is the predecessor to the Jeep Wrangler. They are tough, reliable and incredibly fun. There are more parts available to customize a Jeep and make it your own, than any other vehicle on the planet.

Why This Car Is Special

This is the bad boy of them all. The Jeep CJ7 Renegade. This one has been modernized with fuel injection and is ready to show, cruise or hit the trails.

Mechanical

A 360 CID V8 has been retrofitted with fuel injection for reliability, increased horsepower and fuel economy. This engine has a great sound that lets everyone know it is a big V8 under the hood. The ignition duties are handled by an HEI system for a reliable and powerful spark. The engine is backed by a stout 4-speed manual transmission. This Jeep had a V8 and a 4-speed from the factory, so it is capable of handling the power. Four-wheel drive with power steering and power brakes make this Jeep easy to control and just as comfortable on the street as it is in the woods. A lift kit has been added to fit the 33x12.50R15 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires nicely under the body. They look great and add to the capability of this CJ7.

Interior

The interior is just as Jeep intended it, utilitarian. You have the gauges you need to keep an eye on the engine, the shifters for the transmission and transfer case, and a couple of bucket seats with seat belts. You will notice a couple extra switches that have been installed for the off-road lights. The seats have black fitted seat covers over the original brown vinyl seats. The entire inside of the tub has been covered in bedliner to prevent rusting and make cleaning out the interior a breeze. A bimini top provides shade for you and your passenger and there are doors in the back, if you're not into completely open driving. Along with the fuel injection, a push button start system was added to this Jeep.

Exterior

Bright Yellow paint always looks good on a Jeep, and this one is no exception. Broken up by black beadlock wheel rings, a black top and black Renegade decals on the hood, this Jeep looks tough! The 33" tires wrap nice chrome wheels with black beadlock rings, and fender flares keep the mud off the paint. A heavy duty rear swing gate holds the spare tire in place and provides a spot for a Jerry can (gas can). The black front bumper holds a winch with the hand controller stored nicely in the glovebox. There is also a high-lift jack mounted to the front bumper which not only looks cool, but is essential if you are going off-road. You will also see 2 yellow off-road lights on the bumper and two clear ones on the windshield frame. You can never have too much light when hitting a trail or climbing a mountain. The headlight rings have been changed to black, and the taillights are black LEDs. This Jeep has a bimini top, half soft doors and a full hard top. The full hard top needs some restoration but is included.

Conclusion

Whether you want a daily driver, a beach cruiser or a truly bad ass Jeep to tackle tough trails and rock climbing, you just found it. This Jeep CJ7 Renegade was built to handle it all, and it does it with a ton of style.
