Vehicle Description
1979 Jeep CJ
An early version initially called the "Willys Overland" morphed
from military GP (general purpose) vehicle to the mass-produced CJ,
short for "Civilian Jeep." More than 1.5 million CJ Jeeps were
built, having continued the same basic body style for 45 years
since the Jeep first appeared. Widely regarded as "America's
workhorse", the CJs have been described as "probably the most
successful utility vehicle ever made." The word Jeep is an acronym
of the letters GP.
The call of the wild, the great outdoors, into the great wide open,
breathin' the fresh air, are all representative of this 1979 CJ
which has undergone a full frame-off restoration, and now can take
you out to dinner in style, or to the top of the tallest trailed
peak. You decide, the wild is your oyster...(sic.)
Exterior
Absolutely perfect would be the words to describe the beautiful
paint job on this restored Jeep. Excellent gaps, excellent panels,
removable doors, custom roll bars, and massive LED light bars, and
hidden LED fog lights are a few of the add-ons that give this a
versatile feel, as well as provide enough extra light you will not
need your phone. Texture coated JCR front and rear bumpers are
attached fore and aft. A front mounted winch will get you out of
any spot within the woods where you may have misjudged the depth of
the mud. Mickey Thompson 17-inch polished wheels wrapped by General
Grabbers which are specifically designed to have deep gripping
treads but are very quiet on the paved surfaces on your way to the
trail. These are framed by front fender flares, as immaculate as
the bodywork.
Interior
Starting upfront a custom dash with all the essentials and new
gauges are imbedded into the front and bordered by a beautiful red
windshield. A custom-made center console with a touch screen sound
system will rock your world and have the natural world fleeing
thinking it is an incoming storm. An automatic transmission linked
to a B&M shifter as well as numerous toggle switches are also
seen between the two new buckets. A removable bench seat, and
texture coated floors and surfaces will eliminate your worry about
any mud you may encounter...bring on the hose!
Drivetrain
A spanking new (only 87 miles on it!) 350ci GM crate engine was
plopped into the pristine engine bay backed by an automatic
transmission, Holley carburetor, and plenty of polished chrome. A
custom Flowmaster exhaust and fully polished oil pan and
transmission covers are seen on a pristine underneath. Disc brakes
all around, unless you want to use the crawler gear. And a mild
lift kit increases ground clearance and includes Skyjacker
shocks.
If you are into the outdoors, and love to explore out of the way
places, then you should take a closer look at this beautiful, newly
redone custom build CJ7. With creature comforts, and many upgrades,
this will have any current "wrangler" pale in comparison. An
excellent build which will greatly exceed your expectations in
person. Elephant Hill (Utah) here I come.
