The Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk was a sporty two door coupe that
was sold between 1962 and 1964. The cars designers were inspired by
high-end European Luxury models form their premier design houses.
The car had a longer leaner over Ford's popular Thunderbird and
Chevrolet's mass-produced impala. The Hawk had style points over
anything the big-three had to offer at that time, and their limited
production ensures their rarity and collectability.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this very tidy, 1962 Studebaker
Hawk for world consideration. The car is finished in Ermine White
over black interior. The car features its 289 V8 engine, Automatic
transmission and rear wheel drive. The car has been selective
restored including new paint and new interior carpet and
upholstery. The interior shows excellent featuring its original
dash fascia, stainless steel accents and bright work. Bucket seats,
console, full gauge package, original headliner and alpine stereo
all help complete the interior. The exterior paint appears to be a
bit older and shows excellent, the chrome, stainless and exterior
bright work are complete and show off very well.
Mechanical highlights include its V8 engine and automatic
transmission, power steering, electric fan and air conditioning.
The car starts right up with no issues and on our inspection,
everything seems to work with the exception of the clock. Other
notables included a very spacious trimmed out trunk with a full
size spare.
The Studebaker Hawk GT's are well respected in the automotive
community. Their sophisticated look combined with mechanical
superiority has earned the Hawk collectible status. The car offered
hear is one to consider at this price.
