Only 532 miles on the body off frame restoration.
EXTERIOR: The body seems to be all metal. Tap on it sounds like
tin, I put a magnet to the cab corners and it stuck. It has a
beautiful paint job with a glossy finish. I walked around it and
there are no significant flaws, looks new. The windshield and the
rubber seal looks new. It has a chrome locking gas cap with a Chevy
bowtie. Inside the bed is refinished. Metal painted real nice, oak
floor is refinished. The weather strips are replaced. All the
chrome and trim looks new. Upfront has the optional chrome grill,
bumper, bumper guards and all of it is gleaming. New turn signals
in the hood. The moldings down the sides have been replaced, new
door handles. In back it has the optional chrome bumper and it's
also new. The optional reverse lights, tail lights are new. Has a
1962 license plate. It's dressed up with later model rallye wheels
and BFG white letter tires.
INTERIOR: Inside the cab has been completely repainted red with
white accents. I love the fact it has only 1 visor, passengers was
an option! It does have a correct in dash tachometer. The
instrument lens is new, heater knobs, door handles, glovebox liner
all look great. It has a new reproduction rubber floor mat with
insulation backing.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has all been cleaned and neatly painted.
Under the hood and firewall are body color, inner fenders are
smooth satin black. The engine itself has a fresh clean coat of
Chevy orange. The motor was upgraded to a later model 400 small
block. Everything appears to be tidy and proper, the wiring is run
neatly.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the chassis during
restoration. The underbody metal is so nice and clean it was
painted gloss body color. Nothing to hide here, actually the
opposite- it is highlighted. The chassis was cleaned and painted
satin black. The bottom of the wood bed is refinished. It has dual
exhaust system. Front end components look good. Parking brake
cables are hooked up, the spare rim is painted, shocks are
replaced.
