For Sale: 1975 Porsche 914 in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to present this 1975 Porsche 914. This 1975 Porsche 914 1.8L features a recently completed and well documented 5-year long comprehensive restoration and mechanical refresh. The finished product is a well thought out blend of technical enhancements and driver comfort modernization. The build started with a well-maintained and rust-free southern California car. The body was stripped to bare metal and repainted. The front nose is protected by a professionally installed clear bra. The stock 1.8L engine is a complete rebuild with numerous upgrades. These include 96mm forged JE pistons and liners, light-weight Pauter 911 connecting rods, slightly modified cam (maintains factory 1.8L valve settings), re-machined heads to 8.1:1 compression (93 octane recommended), and balanced flywheel. A HD 911 clutch was also mated to a partially rebuilt transmission (1st gear cluster). A Rennshift performance shifter was installed to provide smoother shifting with a tighter 5-speed shift gate. A NACA air duct is discretely located on the passenger side rocker panel which routes fresh air directly across an auxiliary oil cooler fitted with a thermostatically controlled fan. This set-up ensures correct oil operating temperatures even on the hottest days. A high-performance center positioned dual exhaust was installed that is a modern tribute to the Boxster. This engine retains its originally designed Bosch later generation and widely used reliable L-Jetronic fuel injection system. It has been completely refurbished with new vacuum lines, air flow meter, sensors, and wiring harnesses. A new A/C system by Vintage Air was installed that included a modern compressor, which draws only HP, and uses R134a refrigerant. This system provides cold air and keeps the cabin comfortable even on the hottest days in the Southeast. The interior was completely refurbished with reupholstered seats, door cards, roll bar pad, A-pillars, sun visors and rear bolster. Other work included new carpets, thresholds, dash pad and a new windshield (rare find NOS). Improvements included heated seats and Dynamat, which was placed on the floorboards, firewall, and trunk for sound and heat insulation. Both the front and rear suspension systems have received numerous street performance style upgrades that enhance the legendary handling of the 914 and reduce un-sprung weight. Safety enhancements include a commonly fitted 914 front brake upgrade package, which includes over-sized BMW discs and calipers, stainless brake lines and a 911 master cylinder. The fuel lines, which run from the front gas tank to the mid-ship placed engine, were also upgraded to stainless steel. The car also has a modern high-mount third brake light. The headlights have been converted to LED to decrease voltage use and enhance night driving.
