For Sale: 1932 Ford Highboy in Monterey, California

Vehicle Description

This 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster is painted in deep Sikkens Maroon exterior with complementary tan interior. Constructed on a Brookville steel custom built body by veteran rod-builder Harry Nicks, owner of Nicks Old Car Specialties of Redlands, California.

Originally this ’32 was his personal car, so no time or expense was spared when it came to the restoration. Staring from the ground up with one of his scratch-built custom frames matched to a custom and unique I Beam/torsion bar front suspension with hydraulic front shocks and QA1 shocks offers a very comfortable ride.

An equally sophisticated rear suspension which consists of a parallel-link suspension system which controls the movement while a torsion bar system helps keep the ride super smooth. Willwood disc brakes do a great job of slowing down the car all while sitting on Billet Specialties wheels and T.A.B.F.G tires.

The perfect paint (a trademark of Nicks) and rich color of the dark Sikkens Maroon is a nice contrast to the steel 1932 grill and King Bee headlamps. Add in the custom-built three-piece aluminum hood and you’ll know this car benefits from an expert eye to detail.

Interior is ultra-plush with custom seats by Nicks and the leatherwork was crafted by Stitch By Stitch in Mentone, California. Carpet is a lovely wool pike with matching leather boarders to the seats. A cluster of 5 Moon Eye gauges can be seen on the simply elegant dash. Lightweight aluminum pedals further show the level of attention given to the ’32.

Powered by at 327 cubic inch V-8 Chevrolet. Overhead valves.  A Crane Cam that provides 0.490 inch of lift. Rebuilt by Dougan's Engine Rebuilding and assembled by a team including George Eckhart. Fully balanced and blue printed with custom headers, exhaust pipes by Nicks with all weld finished polished and jet coated. A 22-gallon aluminum fuel tank gives the car plenty of range.

This car was Featured in American Rodder Magazine in May of 2007 with a 6-page spread showcasing its history and all of its great characteristics.
