This remarkable looking, Black on Black 911 Turbo S is an absolute gem! Only 186 coupes were produced, making it by far the most desirable Turbo out of the 996 series.

In 2005, Porsche debuted the Turbo S model, which was essentially a 996 Turbo with the highly desirable and expensive performance X50 option. Also included were the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), 6-disc CD changer and aluminum-faced instruments.

This particular example is 100% stock and is in immaculate shape all around. Everything looks brand new, which shows how great this super low, 20K mile car was taken care of.

Mechanically, everything is spot on and the car performs  beautifully. The service is all up to date, which includes a major 30K mile service in 2017  at a cost of $7,408. The car has traveled less than 2,000 miles since.

The 996 Turbos have been steadily climbing in price, and the best and rare low mile examples are starting to sky rocket in price. They are finding their way into high end collections, as the modern era of new Porsche buyers are starting to take notice. These early, water cool era cars possess a very likable, sleek curvature, and combined with their comfort and unchallenged drivability, it’s no surprise that they are at the top of the market.

“I would like to share my personal observations about the 996 Turbo's! The engine was designed by Hans Metzger, probably the best Porsche engine designer ever. Mr. Metzger designed the engines for my Porsche factory team cars that we won the 2000 American Le Mans Series with. They were absolutely bulletproof, enabling us to win 10 out of 12 races. We also won the European Le Mans Series in 2000. The 996 Turbo engines are not the same design as used in the normal 996 911's. There was a intermediate shaft bearing problem with those cars and some have thought the Turbo's also had a problem. Not true, Mr. Metzger's engines feature a totally different design. Serviced properly, they will provide many hundred's of thousands of miles with spectacular performance.” Dick Barbour.
