Vehicle Description
1969 Pontiac GTO For Sale - Never Restored Original Survivor LMC is
very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Pontiac GTO The car that
started all the muscle car wars was the Pontiac GTO. Having gone
through a few styling changes since its introduction in 1964, an
all-new styled body was release for the 1968 model year, it would
prove to be another hit, further cementing the GTO in muscle car
history. For the 1969 model year, Pontiac had eliminated the front
door vent windows, had a slight grille and taillight revision,
moved the ignition key from the dashboard to the steering column
(which locked the steering wheel when the key was removed, a
federal requirement installed one year ahead of schedule), and the
gauge face was changed from steel blue to black. In addition, the
rear quarter-panel mounted side marker lamps changed from a red
lens shaped like the Pontiac "arrowhead" emblem to one shaped like
the broad GTO badge. Front outboard headrests were made standard
equipment on all cars built after January 1, 1969. The standard 350
hp 400 cu in V8 engine remained, while the 360 hp 400HO was
upgraded to the Ram Air III, rated at 366 hp at 5,100 rpm.
Offered here is a 1969 Pontiac GTO in a rare color combination of
Matador Red with matching Red interior complemented by a Parchment
Cordova Top. It was sold new by Mikesell-Croskey Motors in Cadiz,
Ohio on June 18 th , 1970. Documented by Pontiac Historical
