Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia offers you This 1942 Chevrolet
AK. The Chevrolet AK Series truck was a light duty truck sold under
the Chevrolet brand, with production beginning in 1941 until 1947.
It used the General Motors A platform, shared with the Chevrolet
Deluxe. In 1942 because of war there was no production for the
public as all trucks were designated for military use. This 1942 AK
is one of those trucks. This AK is far from standard issue. Powered
by a 69 Camaro 350 CI small block and a 700 R4 from Monster
transmissions. There is no shortage of power in this war wagon. I
am sure that in 1942 any soldier would have loved AC, power windows
and power locks. Power steering and power brakes are also now
standard equipment on this truck. The interior is highly customized
with power high back seats AM FM and CD, Tilt wheel and keyless
entry. You almost get a big rig or a cab over feeling sitting in
the truck. There are wood inlays on the dash and door panels. The
shifter is floor mounted. The rear of the truck is highlighted by a
beautiful custom built stake body bed with amazing wood work and
detail. There is a diamond plate tool box mounted in the bed. Check
out the dual Barrell Gas tanks mounted saddle bag style on each
side and featuring an electronic switch over. 35 Gallons each for a
total capacity of 70 Gallons. They look great under the bed. The
Big Rig look continues on the front of the truck where Quad
rectangular headlamps and a large bar chrome front grille dominate
the look. This is a one of a kind custom truck that is done right.
Imagine how cool this truck would look pulling our trailer. To view
