MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer an example of that "arrival," a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible with low actual miles of 65,758, as provided from the actual mileage title. Made in Detroit, Michigan, this car left the factory with the following accessories - E-Z Eye Glass, heater , Tri-Power, air conditioning, and cruise control. Now dressed in red with the Ivory top and a white leather interior, this big Caddy's paint and trim are in excellent overall condition. The car's glass is in very good shape, while the lights and chrome bumpers are in excellent condition. The bodywork is straight and solid, the car's engine bay is quite tidy and the battery appears new. This Cadillac rolls on steel wheels topped with factory wheel covers and Firestone FR721 whitewall tires, size 235/75R15 at all four corners. The wheel covers and tires are all in very good order. A brand new quality exhaust system was recently added from the dual headers back. Under the big red hood is Cadillac's 390 CID V-8 engine, breathing through dual exhausts and making 345 horsepower, courtesy of triple Rochester two-barrel carburetors and 10.5:1 compression. Buttoned to this brawny motor is a Hydramatic four-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features are lengthy - air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, six-way power front seats, power trunk pull down, power vent windows, fog lamps and electric door locks. Inside, the car's white leather interior is overall very good order. The split-front bench and rear bench seats look good, as does the contrasting red carpeting. The factory two-spoke steering wheel is present while the inner door panels and instrument panel echo the interior's red and white theme. The dash is in very good order overall while the door liners are in satisfactory condition. Completing the interior is a factory AM radio. Complete with seldom seen 3-piece fiberglass, color matching parade boot. After the dizzying styling heights of 1959, the 1960 Cadillacs had smoother, more restrained styling. General changes included a full-width grille, the elimination of pointed front bumper guards, increased restraint in the application of chrome trim, lower tailfins with oval shaped nacelles and front fender mounted directional indicator lamps. External variations on the Seville two-door hardtop and Biarritz convertible took the form of bright body sill highlights that extended across the lower edge of fender skirts and Eldorado lettering on the sides of the front fenders, just behind the headlamps. This was the final year for the wraparound windshield. A skeg, or fin-like crease, runs from behind the front wheel opening to the rear of the car at the extreme lower bodysides. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, dual back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows, six-way power seats, heater, fog lamps, Eldorado engine, radio with antenna and rear speaker, power vent windows, air suspension, electric door locks, license frames, and five whitewall tires. Technical highlights were finned rear drums and a X-frame construction. Competition to this Eldorado convertible in 1960 included Buick's Electra 225 Convertible, Chrysler's 300F Convertible and New Yorker Convertible Coupe, Lincoln's Mark V Convertible, Mercedes-Benz's 190 SL Convertible, Mercury's Park Lane Convertible and Oldsmobile's 98 Convertible. Car Life magazine chose the 1960 Cadillac as its "best buy in the luxury field." Cadillacs from this era and of this stratum are getting harder to find these days. If you want a boulevardier with style, presence and lots of chrome, you owe it to yourself to come by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today and take a look at this beauty.
