seemed to come out of nowhere. It took everyone by surprise when it
arrived in 1961 as Volvo was considered a sober Swedish automaker
known to most Americans for plain looking, utilitarian family cars.
The beautifully shaped low roof and curvaceous lines combined with
a Ferrari-style "eggcrate" grill and modest tailfins was completely
unexpected of Volvo, but the design was as wonderful as any car
available at that time. The P1800 landed a leading role in the then
hit television series, The Saint, where actor Roger Moore was
widely seen dashing around in his yellow P1800 for 118 episodes.
Road and Track magazine wrote, (P1800) "is a true sports car of a
type we can expect to become extremely popular".

that was purchased new on October 15 1967 in Windsor, Ontario. The
car has been extensively restored in 1994 to resemble "The Saint".
It is finished in Pearl exterior paint over factory correct black
leather interior. Since restoration, the car remained in the
enthusiastic hands of the third owner where it was cared for, shown
multiple times and invited to numerous meets, rally's , club events
and shows. The also gained recognition on the cover of Volvo's Club
worldwide publication, Rolling Magazine. Today, the car remains in
fabulous condition in all areas as no detail was overlooked during
the restoration coupled with the attention the car has received
over the last 25 years. It is powered by its bullet proof, factory
original B18 4 cylinder engine fed by its signature twin SU
carburetors,, 4 speed transmission with overdrive and rear wheel
drive. Other features of this P1800 is the Closed-Box-Type
construction, front disc brakes, high back leather seats, ultra
stylish Smiths Gauges, , original radio, Panasport Wheels, etc.
Mechanically, this P1800 is dialed in and a complete blast to
drive. The car holds excellent oil pressure, great compression, no
smoke and runs great. It shifts smoothly, demonstrates sure
footedness with its taught suspension, and brakes straight and
timely.
