1939 was the next to last year for the Chevrolet Master and the
1939 Master Deluxe is one of the more recognizable pre-war
Chevrolets. Available until 1940, it was replaced by the Chevrolet
Deluxe, which ushered in more luxury with a similar classic design.
This 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe has been customized into an
old-school street rod with gorgeous metallic paint, a custom
interior, and thick wooden running boards that look like they are
straight from a butcher's shop.
Though the exterior paint is beautiful in color, it is what some
may call a "five-footer." Up close, the color remains lustrous, but
the age of the older paint is showing. There are some scratches,
touchups, and general wear all over the car. Nonetheless, the paint
simply glows as you approach the car!
The interior is a custom two-tone design crafted in vinyl with a
1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham steering wheel. A modern
double-DIN radio is mounted to the dash. The custom gauge cluster
is made from a nice set of AutoMeter gauges.
Under the hood sits a 396 cubic inch big block Chevy V8 hooked up
to headers and an aluminum radiator. Additionally, reverse lights
and a reverse camera have been added. The big block Chevy sits on a
front sub frame from Heidts that allows for the addition of the
power front disk brakes.
This 1939 Chevrolet is a great opportunity to get into a pre-war
