Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1970 Plymouth Duster
2-Door Coupe for purchase. As the Barracuda grew in dimension, the
hole it left in Plymouth lineup was filled by the Duster. The
Duster produced a sporty, inexpensive compact that was a lot of
bang for the buck. The Plymouth Duster was introduced in 1970 was
all Valiant from the cowl forward, but the rest of the car's sheet
metal and door skins were completely different. The design
incorporated a semi-fastback roof and a special rear valance with
twin horizontal taillights without bezels. It was built to compete
with the slightly smaller Ford Maverick and the slightly larger
Chevrolet Nova.
This car is powered by a healthy 360 v8 with a 727 automatic
transmission. The Duster was originally a 340 - 4 speed car. The
engine features 340 X heads and a steel crank. The car is set up
for 10 : 6 compression and runs in the 11.50s for the quarter mile.
Other highlights include a 3,000 stall converter, 8 posi traction
rear end, 456 gears, fuel cell in trunk, power cut off and jump
points, roll cage, racing slicks, Auto Meter gauges and more. The
car comes with multiple log books over the years and information
about the build of the car. The car has been run approximately 10
times since last rebuild. This is a ton of car for the money and is
set up and ready for its next race.
