Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1931 Model A Ford
Coupe for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. This is a restored
1931 Model A Coupe with rumble seat, purchased by the current owner
in 2005 and restored over the next two years. The engine was
overhauled, the four-speed overdrive transmission was installed,
and a new clutch and flywheel fitted. The original body is all
metal with no filler, the paint is new throughout, and the bumpers
have been re-chromed. All of the upholstery is new. It has been
driven only to and from and in parades since restoration, clocking
a total of approximately 500 miles. It is a beautiful example of a
stock Model A, complete with a comprehensive set of receipts since
2005. The Ford Model A was the second huge success for the Ford
Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T. First produced
on October 20, 1927, but not sold until December 2, it replaced the
venerable Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. This new
Model A (a previous model had used the name in 1903-04) was
designated a 1928 model. By February 4, 1929, one million Model As
had been sold, and by July 24, two million. In March 1930, Model A
sales hit three million. Model A production ended in March 1932,
after 4,858,644 had been made in all body styles. To view this
