Harley introduced the Sportster in 1957 which shared many features from its predecessor (the Model K) such as the frame, fenders, large gas tank and front suspension. All Sportsters are powered by a four stroke V-Twin engine which was referred to as an Ironhead from 1957-1985 and was upgraded to an Evo in 1986. In 1991 the tranny was upgraded to a 5 speed and the Hugger models benefited from a belt drive, cast wheels and a two passenger seat. This particular example started as an 883 but was built out to a 1200 in 2015. When the engine was rebuilt the bars were upgraded to drag bars and the speedometer was deleted. The bike had just over 15,000 miles when it was converted to a 1200 and has been ridden approximately 2,000 miles since. It has a long list of other chrome options which include the 21” front rim, the front end, the brake calipers, the rear pulley, both belt guards, the oil bag, the engine covers, the tranny covers, the master cylinder, the clutch reservoir, the mirrors, switch housing covers, brake levers, axle covers, grips, pegs and the rear shocks. Not only that but it has a Pro One hyper charger and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its staggered performance exhaust. All said and done well over $5,000 was spent on upgrading this beauty yet we have priced it as if it were bone stock.
