Vehicle Description
52,510 documented miles, rust free original metal and #s match
front to back. In 1974 it was put in storage (when the owner joined
the Navy) until 1994. This car looks, feels, functions like a new
car. All characteristics of a low mile, unabused car.
EXTERIOR: It was special ordered with a 1972 style stripe instead
of the big bird, so that is the way it was kept. The exterior is
better than new. Paint didn't look this good from the factory. The
owner of the car is a serious collector and he happens own a body
shop. He says the metal is pristine and it's all original. The
paint was very presentable before but because there was virtually
no bodywork needed, he couldn't resist giving it a new show quality
finish. It is like glass all the way to the bottom. The rubber nose
does not have a mark on it. The body panels fit square and flush.
The factory spotwelds are still visible on the 1/4 panel lips. The
seams on the bottom of doors and in the jamb are crisp. The long
heavy doors shut like new. It has new decal stripe kit. New
headlight bezels, rechromed rear bumper. Glass is exceptionally
nice, trim around windows is shiny. Jambs were repainted with
glossy finish. Window seals and weatherstrips are replaced. The 15
inch Rally ll wheels are restored, have new trim and BFG tires.
INTERIOR: Inside the car has that nice, unabused look and feel. All
the upholstery, headliner, carpet and door panels are excellent.
Any plastic trim is mint, console is not beat up. The dash area is
really sharp. The machine turned bezel sparkles, gauges are mint,
dash pad is mint. The Am-Fm stereo plays clear, the knobs are still
shiny. I always loved that Formula wheel. The owner's manuals are
in the glovebox.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has it's VIN number matched, original 455
H.O. motor. Very clean and proper under the hood. The ram air
shaker air cleaner is complete. The flapper door works, the duct
work going to the fender is complete. It has it's original chrome
valve covers. The original overflow bottle and washer bottle are
hooked up.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Spotlessly clean metal. Has the insulated mat,
the jack and one of the original tires for a spare. Under trunk lid
and the jamb has slick paint, new weather strip.
UNDERSIDE: Also very clean and unmolested condition. Original
metal, no rust. Even the inner lower 1/4s are mint. Has vin #s
match Turbo 400 automatic and original 3.08 posi rear. New KYB gas
shocks. New custom exhaust, it has fat stainless pipes with X
pipe.
I appraised this car 18 years ago and it had 46,787 miles on it.
Also included with the car is PHS docs, spare keys and letter from
previous owner. This car will only deliver pride and joy to the new
owner!
