1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
You don't come across the early 60s Thunderbirds very often, much
less one in as nice of a color combination as this example. The
Sports Roadster package sets this T-Bird apart as well, and gives
this 62 a sporty look.
Mechanical
The 390 engine is left stock and is very clean. It runs great and
has a good sound. These cars are big and heavy, but the 390 has
plenty of torque to get it rolling and carry it down the highway.
Power steering, power brakes and a great suspension make you feel
as if you're riding on a cloud. Power top, power windows, power
locks, power top and power seat provide the luxury you would expect
in a Thunderbird.
Interior
Bucket seats, wrap around center console and a speedster tonneau.
What more could you want for a futuristic feeling cockpit? The
interior is done in Turquoise to match the exterior and is set off
nicely by the white convertible top. The center console provides
storage, an armrest and looks fantastic. Bucket seats up front and
a bench in the back keep you and your passengers comfortable. Put
on the speedster tonneau if you want a 2-seater look. It removes
easily if you prefer a stock 4-seater feel. The interiors of these
60s T-Birds are nicely appointed and feel classy and stylish.
Exterior
This is a Florida car and certainly looks the part. Turquoise paint
is reminiscent of the waters on the Emerald Coast and the white top
matches the white sandy beaches we all love to enjoy. Wire wheels
with wide white wall tires carry that classy vibe to the exterior
of this third generation Thunderbird. These were known for there
bullet-like appearance and great lines. The Sports Roadster package
included the speedster tonneau and 48 spoke wire wheels. It is a
rare feature as most people thought the fiberglass tonneau would be
too complicated to take off and on.
