Vehicle Description
Porsche introduced the Targa in 1967 with a soft, removable rear
window. These cars have become coveted for both their rarity and
the open top driving experience. This just happened to be the same
year Porsche unleashed its new 2.0-liter 911S on the unsuspecting
sports car world. Both the soft window and the 911S are rare in
there own right, but when combined, they become the stuff 911
legends are made of. The example here just happens to be one of a
few 911S Soft window Targa ever assembled in Canary Yellow.
We found this freshly restored example years ago for a friend and
client. While the restoration was just completed, the execution was
lacking the fit, finish, and detail that have made Road Scholars
renowned for our cars. We purchased the car, stripped it and
started the process of making this car worthy of our name. The body
was massaged, the gaps perfected, and the special "Canary Yellow"
paint was applied. The engine, interior, and minute details were
handled and nothing was over looked to finish this rare 911.
The results speak for themselves with a first in class in Carmel's,
Concours on the Avenue and an invitation to be displayed on the
Porsche stand at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance.
