Vehicle Description
This is probably one of the nicest SD300 still in existence. This
is a near perfect car in excellent, sorted driving
condition.Originally sold new into Arizona; first owner used car
sporadically in fair weather only and kept original window sticker,
correspondence form Mercedes, keys, etc. Second owner spent three
years searching for best 300SD on the planet and found this car,
then had the car completely serviced and addressed all potential
issues prior to driving it. Current owner purchased from a dealer
who acquired it from the 2nd owner about 3 years ago. So, excluding
last selling dealer, current owner is third owner. This W116 is
finished in 681 Manila Beige and still wears its original paint all
around. The interior is finished in Bamboo MB Tex and is in
impeccable condition all around. Bright and clear Zebrano wood
inlays. Mechanically this vehicle is like a brand new Rolex watch.
The original alloy spare is present as are tools and all original
books, 6 keys, and the original window sticker.Almost completely
original except for basic maintenance items. The original MB alloys
were replaced with MB wheels & covers and Period correct MXV tires
for a more classic look. The radio was replaced with a modern two
knob Becker and the speakers were updated behind the original MB
grills. It also has period correct coco mats. The 2nd owner was a
true auto aficionado and had every potential mechanical issue
addressed in advanced before driving, including: -- Brand new
climate control servo from Mercedes Benz. -- AC system properly
converted to W134A with new hoses, expansion valve and dryer to
make sure that the AC blows ice cold through all the proper vents.
-- New motor and transmission mounts -- Changed all fluids --
Replace all belts and hoses. The current owner always wanted one of
these big MB Diesels and also did an exhaustive search to find the
best car possible. Upon finding this one, he purchased it in 2016
with 44k miles. Since purchasing, the current owner has had the
following done (with service records from 2016-present at 45k, 47k,
50k and 52k miles): -- Transmission service -- Replace wiper
inserts -- Flush brake fluid -- Replace valve cover gasket --
Replace steering coupler, drag link, tie rods & align -- Replace
cluster potentiometer -- Replace fuel return hose -- Replace front
crankshaft seal -- Replace blower vacuum switch -- Replace climate
control amplifier & service ACThe only known issues are a 2-3" dash
crack at the side of the instrument binnacle, some small rock
chips, and indentations on front bumper chrome from a previously
installed front plate bracket. See attached photos.
